"My bf and I stayed here for 6 nights. We rented a car and lucky enough this hotel has free parking. We got a king-bed nonsmoking room, it looked exactly like the photos and was pretty clean (there was a dead spider on the bathroom floor when we checked in and a dead roach on the bathroom floor on like night 3). The area is definitely iffy. Just a lot of prostitutes out at night on the side streets but it was quiet and nobody bothered us. We also didn’t really hang out there, we were out all day and literally just came back to shower and sleep. As a woman I’m not sure if I would’ve stayed there by myself but I did feel safe having my bf there w me. It was 30 minutes from Point Loma so I’m not sure I’d book here again simply because we had to leave pretty early to get over there. Overall a decent hotel, I’d give it a 3/5 just because location isn’t the best and didn’t really like seeing the dead bugs inside lmao but it was fairly cheap, bed was decent (the pillows were kinda small and weren’t the best), but they had free parking. They offer breakfast but we never tried it so I’m not sure how good it is lol."

"It was a new property with nice grounds and it was very clean. The staff was super nice! My only minor complaint is that it’s very basic meaning no tissue, no conditioner, and although there was a kitchen, there was nothing provided in terms of kitchen, utensils, or plates or paper towels. Other than that, it was very nice."

"Property is clean, staff is very friendly. They watch to see who comes and goes so there isn't any sketchy people hanging around. I stayed at a hotel across the street from this one and it was very sketchy! This property is clean. Only glitch was the air conditioner wasn't connected to the wall unit to adjust the temp properly. It appeared to be broken. I called the desk and they sent someone to check it and was told to just unplug it when it got to cold and plug it in again when it warmed up. Hopefully, it gets fixed for the next person. The lobby has a very homey feel to it."

"I don't like No coffee in the room! You must get dressed and go downstairs to buy expensive Starbucks. I travel to SD often solo. Wish they would change their coffee policy! The good thing about Sycuan is security. Both free valet parking and the room key is needed to use the elevator to the room. Overall a good experience and I will continue to book with them."
