It's a very nice hotel if you need an out of the way place to camp out while exploring Portland and the southeastern corner of Washington state. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. It's almost equidistant to Portland and Astoria plus the highway the hotel is on directly connects to both cities.

Solid little Inn, it's right off the highway. The town of Clatskanie doesn't have much to do but Beaver Creek Falls is only a 15 minute drive away and is a great short hike

The desk clerk was super friendly and chipper, and really made me look forward to breakfast tomorrow. Even in the face of the cranky couple in front of me, she never lost her smile.

Staff was super friendly everywhere and breakfast was very good. Location was very quiet. Pool looked nice but we did not use it. Beds were a bit springy but still comfortable. Wallpaper in bathroom peeling a little and pillows on bed were smaller than usual. Overall, we were happy with our stay 😊

I unfortunately stayed while there was a youth basketball tournament that weekend. They had unruly kids and parents not being considerate of staff and guests. The staff went above and beyond to politely address the ongoing situation to no avail. We felt so bad for the staff. My grandkids enjoyed the big breakfast they served. They made things right with us! We defiantly will be staying there in the future when we go visit our granddaughter.

The daily breakfast options were good & the Sunday breakfast was excellent. My only suggestions would be to include the option of a lightweight blanket with the bedding (& not just sheets & a duvet/bedspread). Also, standard sized pillows rather than the square ones provided.

Honestly, it was quite a pleasurable surprise to find such a nice place in a relatively small town. Staff was friendly and professional accommodations are clean, good size and well maintained.

I often find myself having to "look past" issues at hotels these days. But not at the Clatskanie River Inn. The whole experience was positive. The grounds are well-kept. The lobby is inviting. The receptionist was friendly. The decor and furniture in the lobby and hallways are substantial, not cheap. The room is clean and well-presented. Everything works as it should. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is generous and the breakfast eating room is comfortable. Seems simple, but not all hotels can pull it off. Clatskanie River Inn does.

I've stayed there before, had a great experience, and it's close to everything in town-walkable! But above all was the helpful and friendly staff! And Fultano's (best pizza!) being so close next door clinches the deal-I'll stay there again!

This was an affordable alternative to the high-priced accommodations on the coast, but close enough to be able to explire Astoria and other coastal areas. The rooms were clean and the staff really took care of the guests, but the hotel really needs an up-grade as flooing is worn and decor is dated. Could use more sound insulation but it wasn't enough to disturb sleep. Not many dining option although they offer a decent breakfast.

I looked forward to using the hot tub. while I was in the hot tub another woman came and said she just wanted to put her feet in and she did that. Then she proceeded to pick skin and scabs, callouses, or what ever off her feet. Of course I got out and I felt rather sick after that. It was really gross.

Sparkling Clean
The King Suite we stayed in had a FULL refrigerator, stove, oven and plenty of counter space and dishes. The place was immaculate when we came in! Kudos to your cleaning staff! The breakfast was a miss for me, but luckily we had a stove to cook our own. Staff was friendly and busy! Preparing breakfast, manning front desk, folding laundry. Great job. The only unfortunate thing was we ended up paying more for the room, more than likely because the Hood to Coast was over the weekend and we ended up paying more than any other weekend.

Great choice
Landed the last available room on short notice for a summer weekend trip to the coast. 40 minutes away from Astoria, at a reasonable price. Exceptionally comfortable bed. Asked the desk clerk what kind of bed it was and she offered to find out and email me, but apparently forgot. Still looking forward to hearing back (8/19, #310). Will stay again.
