If it's your first time travelling during the COVID-19 pandemic, you'll notice a host of new standards and rules in place. Take note of these tips and make your journey to City North go off without a hitch:

• Research what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check government advisories before booking.
• When you go through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to briefly lower it to confirm your identity. Anyone refusing to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the terminal.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee. Rather, position the pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
• You can take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your hand luggage. This will need to be removed for X-ray screening.
• To minimize handling during the screening process, put items such as your phone, coins and keys into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• If you want to take food on board, place it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your carry-on bag or food container for closer inspection.
