Summary:
Ardross Lodge is a spacious lakeside home made for easy get-togethers, with four bedrooms, three bathrooms and open-plan living overlooking the water.
It’s somewhere where eight people can actually relax without feeling on top of each other. Mornings start slow, evenings settle around the table, or the hot tub, and the lake is right there when you’re ready to switch from paddling to holding your breath and going for it.
The Space:
Ardross sleeps eight across four bedrooms. Upstairs, you’ll find the master suite with a superking bed, its own lounge and an en-suite, plus two bedrooms that can be set as superkings or twins, sharing a family bathroom. The ground-floor bedroom has a king-size bed and an accessible en-suite wet room. The open-plan living area leads to a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table for eight and a smart TV with fast Wi-Fi. Heating and air conditioning keep the space comfortable year-round.
Guest Access:
You’ll have full use of the lodge, the enclosed lakefront deck, the private hot tub, the outdoor dining area, and the BBQ. The deck has direct access to the lake via a side gate, and you get a complimentary kayak to enjoy the lake, with private parking right outside the property.
The Neighborhood:
Set within the beautiful Cotswold Lakes region, the property is surrounded by over 180 freshwater lakes, woodland trails and open countryside. This unique lakeside setting combines natural beauty with an outdoors-focused lifestyle; perfect for walking, cycling, paddleboarding, or simply relaxing by the water’s edge. Wildlife is plentiful, the air is peaceful, and every day feels like a retreat.
Just a few minutes away sits the charming village of South Cerney, one of the most established communities in the area. The village offers traditional stone cottages, local shops, good pubs and friendly cafés, all set along leafy lanes and open green spaces. From here, scenic lakeside walks begin right on the doorstep.
Cirencester, often described as the Capital of the Cotswolds, is just a 10–15-minute drive away, offering boutique shopping, restaurants, markets, and cultural heritage. And with Kemble Station close by, direct trains to London make this an ideal base for weekend stays or longer escapes.
Life here feels calm, outdoorsy and connected to the landscape - somewhere where mornings start with coffee overlooking the water and end with sunset walks across the lakes. It’s a rare location that balances privacy with convenience, nature with activities, and peaceful surroundings with excellent access.
Getting Around:
The lodge sits within the Cotswold Lakes, close to South Cerney’s pubs, cafés and village shops.
Cirencester is a short drive away, and the wider Cotswolds offer plenty of walks, lakes, market towns and places to eat.
Other Things to Note:
We’re dog-friendly and welcome up to two dogs (a third may be possible on request). A high chair and travel cot are available at no extra cost, and we can help with light decoration touches for birthdays, proposals or other occasions.
Open-water swimming is permitted directly from the deck and is one of the highlights of staying here. Swimming is at guests’ own risk and requires a waiver before arrival. Paddleboard hire is available, and with easy lake access, it’s perfect for slow mornings on the water or sunset paddles.
The lodge sits within the private, gated Waters Edge estate, a peaceful place designed for relaxed breaks rather than large or noisy gatherings. If you’re travelling with a bigger group, we manage more than 18 homes on Waters Edge and nearly 50 across the wider Cotswolds, so we can recommend neighbouring houses or help coordinate multiple bookings.
Interaction with Guests:
Everybody finds peace differently, and that’s how it should be. From the moment you book, you decide the pace, and we’ll be there to help you plan and create moments that really matter.
It’s that little extra layer of support we offer to make sure everything runs smoothly. Thoughtful service that never gets in the way of a good moment.
Whether that means a slow morning with a fresh pot of tea and a long soak, or a day out exploring neighbourhoods and nature - we’ll guide you, so it all unfolds just the way you’ve pictured it.
