We had a lovely stay, with one problem which I will explain later in the review. The cottage is beautiful, with stylish décor and thoughtful touches like wine and brownie bites on arrival. The parking was so helpful, and the stay is quiet, which made it very relaxing. The location couldn’t have been better, with Arlington Row right on the doorstep, plus great local pubs and coffee shops nearby. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay.
However, the bathroom was awkward to use as the sink and door were too large for the space. The biggest issue though was the number of woodlice in the cottage. Unfortunately, they were even in our bed every night, which left us feeling uneasy and not fully comfortable during the stay. We even discussed leaving one night early, as pulling back the sheets to find woodlice in the bed was so unpleasant.
This cottage has so much potential, but the woodlice problem really let it down for us, and due to this we’d struggle to stay again. It ultimately ruined what could have been a perfect stay, and we feel a partial refund would be fair, as any pest issue like this should be declared upfront.
