Cosy cottage in Bibury & parking
Rosemary Cottage is a charming Grade II Listed 17th-century Cotswold stone cottage in the heart of Bibury, “the most beautiful village in England.” Just a 2-min walk to Arlington Row and close to the tranquil River Coln, it blends original features like exposed beams with modern comforts. Featuring two cozy bedrooms, a real fire and off-street parking. Ideally situated for wedding venues, countryside walks and with the Swan Inn pub less than 5 min walk - it’s the perfect countryside retreat. Welcome to Rosemary cottage! Located next to a tranquil local green, the property is spread out over three floors. The house was built in the 17th century and maintains many quaint original features. Please note- this sometimes means you need to watch your head! We think this adds to the charm, but please bear this in mind before booking. The ground floor features an open-plan lounge and full kitchen. Relax on the large corner sofa with a glass of wine while the fire crackles in the background, or watch a movie on the TV with soundbar and sub-woofer. There is space for 6 around the dining table and a dishwasher to save you washing the dishes. Climb the original 17th century staircase* to the first floor (rope handle rail and restricted space mean that this maybe be unsuitable for those with restricted mobility) where the master bedroom with king size bed and luxury mattress makes your sleep as comfortable as your stay. The first floor bathroom features a bath so you can have a soak after a walk in the countryside. Climb a second set of stairs to the the attic and second bedroom, also featuring a king-size bed and with an en-suite shower room. Please note that this room has a very low beam by the bathroom door that you need to duck under, so please be careful. Rosemary cottage is situated in the heart of the village, right by St Mary's church and less than 2 minutes walk from the famous Arlington Row, the water meadows and the river Coln. The village has two gorgeous pubs, The Catherine Wheel (the local's boozer!) and The Swan Inn (for a fancy meal). There are some fantastic walks from our door taking in the beautiful river Coln, open Cotswold countryside and numerous fantastic traditional pubs! Self check-in is available any time of day and we're only down the road should you need anything! The cottage features off-road parking for two cards, which is very rare in the village! The Market towns of historic Cirencester, Tewksbury and charming Fairford with well provisioned local shops, coffee houses plus some wonderful restaurants and pubs. Both high streets have lovely local markets every week and well stocked supermarkets/local convenience stores less than 15 minutes drive away. All the gorgeous and charming north Cotswold towns such as Stow on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh, Blockley and Bourton-on-the-Water are less than 30 minutes drive. Oxford is less than 50 minutes from the door step with its historical architecture and fantastic sights and museums. Parking Off-street parking for 2 vehicles. *guests are asked to use the stairs sensibly and note that the hosts accept no liability for any injuries occurring in the house. You are able to use all of the cottage - the basement is currently being updated but free to use it if you wish. Self check-in is available but we live nearby should you need us for anything.
