"Our family very much enjoyed our stay at RiverRose.Elizabeth was very helpful from the getgo, and we appreciated the ease of settling in. The array of cookies left for us was a lovely, and unexpected surprise.One of our party had to work remotely, and the excellent wifi and the desk made all stress free and even enjoyable.The place was spotless, all the appliances worked, it was well stocked with kitchen needs, and the large tv made our movie nights fun. The beds were really comfortable, and the A/C and the woodstove (both needed this late in the summer!) were much appreciated. The tandem kayak made for some splendid lazy meanderings on the tranquil river. And although there were other properties dotting the entire shoreline, it was more private and quiet than expected, especially at the end of the season, with only the occasional water craft drifting by -- mostly kayaks and canoes. At one point, we needed to find live worms for fishing and within minutes Elizabeth had not only found a source but had called them to ensure there would be stock available.The Metro store in Mansfield supplied all our grocery needs. A note to birdwatchers: we were there at the start of the southern migration, and the number of species we encountered was stunning -- not least of which was a pair of bald eagles. The cottage was splendidly positioned in every way. We highly recommend RiverRose! "
"We had a great time at this place. Once we arrived we instantly regretted not booking this place for a third night but the host was very generous and allowed us to checkout late on our final day. The views were incredible and the choices of what to do (beach, dock, boats, hot tub, trails) kept us busy. Would definitely recommend. "

"We had such an amazing time here. The place is huge—114 acres—and completely private, which was exactly what we were looking for. We walked the trails every morning, and our dog was living her best life just running around and exploring. The view of the Ottawa River from the chalet is beautiful, and the whole property just feels completely peaceful and quiet.The chalet was spotless and had everything we needed. It felt like a real home, not just a rental. On the really hot days it was nice to step inside to cool down for a bit, but most of the time we were outside kayaking, fishing, or just relaxing by the water. We saw deer every day, along with wild turkeys, turkey vultures, and even bald eagles, which was amazing to see.Louis, the owner, was a real stand-out. He was extremely attentive, easy to talk to and even gave us a personal tour of the property, which made it easy to find all the trails and the best spots to check out.If you want total privacy, lots of space, and a quiet place to enjoy nature without giving up the comforts of home, this place is perfect. We will definitely be coming back! 10/10. "
