"Room was basic but good - everything worked well, but there was one slight problem - the bathroom 'pod' was quite noisy to use, i.e. the door operation was noisy, and also it was not possible to turn the bathroom light on without also lighting the main room. Hence when using the loo at night it inevitably also woke up my wife. Breakfast was included and was excellent."

"The property evidently had various extensions and upgrades, but in some places, quite dated. The car park is free, but probably due to extensions, limited spaces, so you may need to use the Zoo car park. The pool was barely large enough to swim in and the sauna was out of order. That said, the room was immaculately clean, staff was very friendly and it has rather spacious breakfast/ dining area. I would stay there again."

"The balmoral did not disappoint. Everything was top notch. If I had to make a complaint it would be that tea in the palm court missed an opportunity to educate guests on the many teas available and perhaps aid in the decision making. Also the little sandwiches at the tea were not to our taste, but everything else was perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel as an expensive, but well worth it experience."
