What a gem of a hotel. Stayed for two nights, short walk to main shops, eateries, casino on your doorstep but you wouldn’t know it (no noise). Room had a kitchenette, separate bath and shower. The bath was a spa bath, modern, clean, awesome after a long day walking, sightseeing! Lady who runs the place was awesome. Staff pleasant. Car parking was easy and secure, gate closed at night. Highly recommend this place.

Overall nice stay. Easy to walk to several main attractions. Staff helpful. Clean facilities. Lower rating relates to very soft squishy bed. More support better quality bed is definitely needed.

We found this property perfect for our first stop in New Zealand- it was clean, close to everything,especially the beautiful botanical garden , good price ( as have 2 teenage children so needed to 2 rooms and appropriate beds). Staff were very helpful and friendly with lots of useful tips and looked after our bags at checkout time so we coukd look around some more ! Thank you Jenny and Family

We had a nice two-night stay and the room, although small, was adequate with a comfortable, firm queen bed and small kitchenette. Room was clean and check-in staff was nice. Area around hotel was not developed very nicely. There was a vacant lot visible from our room, plus an apparent abandoned building and a residence with shacks/sheds/inoperable cars. The casino was across the street and was not a favorable attribute (based only on the exterior). We did not have a balcony, but that was OK based on condition of surrounding properties.

Manager was very accommodating allowing us an early check in as we drove a good part of the night and needed a shower and rest. Very helpful an knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommend it will stay there again

The lady on duty on Saturday 7th October 2023 and Sunday morning 8th October 2023 is beyond fantastic! Through, friendly and helpful, gave us an option to take the ground level one bedroom suite because the original one on level 2 (she even showed me to let me choose) required walking up the stairs (the lift was out of order and the mechanic couldn't come until next week) , when we laughed about jelly legs after a big hiking trip earlier the day. She had the heater turned on already for us, showed me how to get in and out after hours etc. The room was spotless and well equipped, parking on site are big spots so it was easy. We could walk to the nearby restaurants and the casino is opposite the road with all the little restaurants as well! Quiet, peaceful yet convenient! Definitely coming back the next time! Thank you for giving us a fantastic night of sleep too!

Our night here was made pleasurable by a lovely welcome & being shown to our room by Property Manager. The room & bathroom were spotlessly clean. Private car parking was a bonus. Great value for money…& if you enjoy a wee flutter the Casino is literally across the road!

I was particularly impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The hotel is tidy, and it is a beautiful short walk to the Te Pai conference centre and the Riverside dining area, and Hagley Park, through parks and along river walkways

Property is fine. It's quiet and reasonably comfortable (bed nice and comfy) BUT housekeeping bare minimum and what irked me most is that the kitchen is not fit for purpose. It was one of the one of the reasons we chose the property. There is no ventilation above the hotplate and hence the "no exotic foods" (that means fish!) rule signed on the wall above. I spent $32 on two nice salmon fillets and had to eat them raw or waste them.
