There's guaranteed fun for all the family at this excellent amusement park which has more than 70 thrilling rides.
The largest amusement park in China offers a great day out for the whole family, with roller coasters, carnival rides and action galore. The park opened in 2006 to much fanfare and is in the Guinness Book of World Records thanks to its roller-coaster named Inversion, which has a whopping 10 loop-the-loops. It also has the largest 4-D theatre and the largest number of imported rides in the country. The park is not just for thrill-seekers though – there is plenty of gentler entertainment to be had. From hiring a paddle boat to variety shows and parades, and a dedicated zone called Happy Kingdom for the under 13s. Happy Kingdom is indoors and there are over 40 rides, including a double-decker carousel and bumper cars. And the zone's air-conditioning makes it a great place to take a break from Guangzhou's sweltering humidity in the summer. In the 4-D theatre on the eastern edge of the park, family-friendly films are regularly shown – some have English subtitles but not all, so check before taking a seat. The park's scariest rides are in Screaming Zone. The Inversion roller coaster has the highest number of flips and twists on its 850 metres of track than any other in the world. The Dive Coaster is 1000 metres of track, reaching 80 metres high and races round at 120 kilometres per hour before swooping down into a 90 degree dive. Other rides that will make you regret that burger include the Flying Horse coaster, the Motorbike Launch coaster, and the Half Pipe coaster. If these zones weren't enough, there's also a water park called Happy Water World. Here you will find high-speed water slides as well as a huge splash pool with a wave machine.Situated in the Panyu District, Chimelong Paradise is 13 kilometres from central Guangzhou and is best reached by subway. The amusement park is open daily.
