The hotel doesn't really offer much but if you're just looking for a place to crash the night in, it is a good option. Shower was surprisingly good but the rooms overall were mediocre. "I have never been to a hotel with staff this wonderful. The views are idealic. The restaurant on site was excellent and a good value. We felt at home very quickly. The hotel only has 10 total rooms. We were able to chop it up and meet other guests. A+. Staff always cheerful and helpful!
I only have one complaint that is the same at every other hotel I have stayed at around Lake Atitlan. That complaint is the dogs! They are barking all night and here is a disco which can get rather loud. The hotel actually has ear plugs laid out for guests when they checkin. "
"Just a 5-minute tuk-tuk ride from both Panajachel and Santa Catarina Palopó, the location is super convenient yet tucked away in a quiet, peaceful area where you’ll truly find relaxation.
I stayed in the Iguana room, which was great. It doesn’t have a fridge, but the restaurant and kitchen area downstairs can keep your items refrigerated if needed. Very practical!
Although I didn’t get a chance to try the bar, I had dinner at the restaurant and was impressed—the Syrian dish was absolutely exquisite and paired perfectly with the wine I brought. (There’s a Q50 corkage fee, which I found very reasonable given the quality of the food and the priceless view).
The property also has a traditional Mayan sauna, which I didn’t get to try this time but definitely will in the future. It’s all done in a traditional, manual way, so you need to arrange it in advance. I highly recommend guests take advantage of this unique and relaxing experience in nature.
