False advertisement: they are no longer associated with OYO so the use of the "Capital O" name is misleading.
Under new ownership of arabs and Africans and it looks like it. Holes in the walls from maintenece AND mice, no wifi, homeless folks sleeping in and around the place, maintenace leaves trash in the center of the parking lot for the hobos to rummage through.
This was my worst hotel experience ever. I reached the property and they didn’t have any rooms even though I had a reservation. After getting on chat support with hotels.com for an hour with no good resolution as everything in Chicago was booked that night, suddenly the hotel gave me a “less than desirable” room which didn’t have light in it, had cockroaches roaming around, and was generally not fit to inhabit. However given the late hour I decided to just take it for one night. I feel that hotels.com should compensate me for the amount of the booking at least, through One Key cash for a future booking.
If you are wanting a cheap motel for the night, this is it. Just keep in mind that it’s cheap for a reason. Upon arrival, we noticed a used needle/syringe on the ground. The sheets of the bed were stained so we had to ask for new ones. The shower leaked, there was no mini fridge/kitchenette, no lamps or additional lighting. Not a big deal for a one night stay but maybe for longer periods. The actual place was dirty beyond repair (the stairs, the railings, the storage rooms, the roof overhang). Overall, we had a good stay - but if you’re looking for comfort over price, this is not the place.
A resident drug dealer, there is a drug dealer assistant directly in front of the building directly where the property ends not even a half foot on sidewalk the addicts are making there purchases. Mobile traffic drive in park and proceed to the top floor last room east. Make there purchase while two or three obviously overnighters get lit and the assistant is re-up. You get 1 towel, no face rag, one small bar of soap. Mostly the dealers is calling the shot. He's selling dinner plates at $10.00. The hooker will stop you on the stairs to solicit... I literally fell down the steps with my food and some juices I had purchased at the gas station.
I would never never never never utilize this place as it last resort because of my bad experience at the motel 6 yet again for one nightmare to another
1. Upon check in we couldn’t have a room key because they “didn’t have one” so every time we needed in our room we had to ask to be let in and you could tell they were annoyed. We would have went somewhere else had we been given a refund.
2. They told us we needed to move our car because “homeless come in sometimes” so we were constantly checking to make sure no one was messing with our car.
3. The lock on our door was only secure from the outside and front desk key.
4. There was trash, rat/mouse poop and what we hoped was food and drink stains all over the room including the furniture.
5. The bed sheets were clean but the pillowcases were dirty and stained.
6. The Tv was nothing but staticky and there was no WiFi, the tv stand had a busted out cabinet.
7. The curtains were taped to the walls with medical tape to keep them closed.
8. There were holes in the walls everywhere some taped over with the same tape as the curtains.
9. The smoke alarm was missing and had incense sticks hanging out.
10. The bathroom door had a huge hole in it where the door handle should have been.
11. The sink and tub were nasty that we didn’t shower, and if we wanted to we had only one small bar soap that was covered in dirt and hair on the wrapper.
12. We had two hand towels and the no bath towels and the towel rack was broken and hanging off the wall.
13. The main light was just a dull light bulb that didn’t light up the room at all.
14. Only good thing was the A/C and heat worked.
