Top Chicago Hotel Reviews

River Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The hotel is ideally located. The massive TRUMP sign is hard to overlook but it is part of Chicago. The staff was great and the room was clean and well laid out."

"we had a girls weekend and had a corner two room suite. when we checked in the room was very warm. before we left for the night we tried to turn the air down so it was cool when we got back, it would only let us turn it down to 74. when we got back the room still wasnt cool so we went to the lobby and told them our air wasnt working. They told us they were aware of the cooling problem and many rooms wouldnt cool down. they asked if we wanted a box fan and we told them yes. we went back to the room and waited for the fan and it never came so I called back down and they said they were busy delivering fans but one was on the way to our room. It was never delivered and we didnt have a good night sleep because it was so hot in our room. we were in room 326. I told the front desk lady in the morning and she said she new nothing about the cooling problem. there was 4 of us in the room and none of us slept much becuase of the temp in the room. we tried to open the window during the night but then it was so loud with fire trucks and other traffic going by we closed it.
not the best stay for the price we paid"

The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown
10/10 Excellent
"VERY friendly and helpful staff! The room felt luxurious and spacious. The city view was fantastic. Location was very convenient with plenty of locations for coffee and food options nearby."

"Staff were helpful, the room was clean and hotel location is great. We stayed in a room with queen bed which is unbelievably small, and the bathroom is small as well. It is very outdated, it has such a poor lighting to the point where I had to use natural sunlight to put on make up. The room doesn’t have a fridge nor coffee machine, and it might be big enough for a twin bed."

Congress Plaza Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Hotel has the markings of being grand, but needs a renovation in a lot of areas. The biggest issue we had is that the a/c is not adjustable in each room and the building was very warm on the 75 degree day in April. We called the front desk and they did bring us a fan that helped some and we realized we could crack the windows (but didn’t want to do that overnight with the noise of the city). Other than than, it was a standard stay and a convenient location for our plans in the city. "

Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago
10/10 Excellent
"Modern hotel, took a quick minute to figure out lighting, A/C. Everything was great. Very nice place. Rooftop and lobby bar super nice. Only one minor complaint. My coffee maker wasn’t working so I went to the included breakfast to grab coffee. The host would not let me take coffee back to my room, my only option was to be seated and drink it in the restaurant. I had a teen alone in the room so I just went back to the room. Seemed very silly to not allow my to take coffee to my room. "
