This semi-detached holiday home enjoys an enviable position adjacent to the water where swans and seabirds meander by. The entrance to the property is by the lovely sun room, which has underfloor heating and travertine floor tiles. It also has a comfortable sofa and armchair to enjoy the peace and quiet, and the view of the lake. A washing machine and tumble dryer are also located in here, concealed within stylish units which also house the outside seating cushions. The open plan living space on the ground floor also has white oak ceramic floor tiles, comfortable seating, a stylish round oak table, a kitchen with quartz concrete-effect worktop and French doors which lead to a small balcony, where guests can rest and refresh. There is a small bay with rocky outcrops within 300 yards from the property. The wide expanse of golden sandy beach, Beadnell Bay, is less than a mile away. This is a popular destination for watersport enthusiasts, with activities including sailing, sea kayaking, windsurfing and scuba diving. Beadnell Bay can truly be described as the jewel in Northumberland’s seaside crown; idyllic for a romantic barefoot stroll in the sand to listen to the waves lap against the shoreline and inhale the invigorating sea air.
2 miles up the coastline is the traditional fishing port of Seahouses, where boat trips to the nearby Farne Islands – famous for its bird sanctuaries and seal colony – depart regularly from its harbour. Here there are several charming tea rooms, quaint pubs and shops with horse riding, fishing and golf on the links close by. A further 3 miles up the coastline is the picturesque village of Bamburgh, which lies snuggled in the shadow of its majestic fortress and commands the power and presence of the seasoned television set it regularly becomes.
Just a few miles inland is the bustling market town of Alnwick, with its own dramatic castle (and film location for ‘Harry Potter’s’ Hogwarts Academy). Visitors will also enjoy a trip to Alnwick Garden – a spectacular interpretation of a formal garden including the Grande Cascade Waterfall and restaurant, which is set within the largest tree house in Europe! Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

This house is well situated for enjoying the stunning Northumberland Coastline The House itself has everything you need and is very comfortable A lot of thought has clearly gone into ensuring that guests have everything they need The booking was initially a concern to me as although I had tried to pay, I kept being told there was an error. This was with VRBO and I couldn’t get hold of anyone, I thought we had lost the booking because it then became unavailable but after a few days I had an e mail from Cottages.com to say there had been a problem and to ring them, which I did, and they took payment over the phone. They told me this was an issue because the booking wasn’t initially with them. About a week before we went, I realised we hadn’t had any confirmation of the payment or booking and had to ring through to ask for it. Shortly after this, we also had communication from the owners and from that point communication was really good but I would say the initial process is stressful, nothing to say you are booking effectively through a fourth party!
