About this property

Marram Cottage - Cosy, well equipped, family, beach house

  • Marram Cottage is a beautifully renovated, detached bungalow sitting right on the edge of Beadnell's famous sand dunes — with a private rear garden gate that opens directly onto the dunes and Beadnell Bay beyond. Voted best Northumberland beach by The Times, Beadnell Bay is on your doorstep in under two minutes. Inside, the cottage is cosy, contemporary and thoughtfully equipped and recently renovated — a genuine home from home. Whether you're here for a family summer, a coastal escape, or a peaceful off-season retreat, Marram has everything you need and one of the most enviable locations on the Northumberland coast.

    The Space

    Living Areas

The heart of the cottage is a relaxed, comfortable living room with two large sofas, a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings, and a Smart TV and DVD player for films and box sets after a day on the beach.

Adjoining the living room is a bright sunroom — a lovely spot for a slow morning coffee or a lazy meal while looking out over the patio and dunes. Two easy chairs make it a great reading retreat in any weather.

    Kitchen & Dining

A spacious, fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar gives you everything you need for comfortable self-catering. Appliances include fridge freezer, hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a Nespresso Vertuo Next coffee machine. A separate washer and tumble dryer are also available.

    Bedrooms

Set across one floor, there are three bedrooms — all tastefully furnished with new beds, quality pocket-sprung mattresses and blackout blinds for late lie-ins.

King bedroom — comfortable king-size bed with pocket-sprung mattress, chest of drawers, mirror and hanging space
Twin bedroom — two stylish single beds with pocket-sprung mattresses, chest of drawers, mirror and hanging space
Bunk bedroom — modern bunk beds with deep pocket-sprung mattresses, ideal for children or adults; chest of drawers, mirror, hanging space and travel cot available on request (please bring own cot bedding)

The cottage sleeps 6, with a sofa bed available to accommodate up to 2 additional guests.

    Bathroom

One modern family bathroom with toilet, bath and overhead shower. Heated floor for extra comfort in colder months. Backlit LED demister mirror with integrated speakers and double electric toothbrush charger. Towels and linen are provided.

Outside — The Garden & Your Private Gate to the Beach

Step out of the sunroom into the south-facing rear garden — a sheltered, fully enclosed patio that catches the sun for most of the day and is one of the cottage's real highlights.

Hard landscaped for low maintenance, with attractive planting for colour, the garden is fully equipped for outdoor living: a quality real-wood dining table and chairs comfortably seats six for al fresco meals and BBQs; a comfortable lounger seating area for relaxing in the sun; and an outdoor shower — perfect for rinsing off after the beach or washing down watersports kit. Evening outdoor lighting means you can make the most of long summer evenings outside.

There's also space to store boards, wetsuits, bikes and beach gear, with the integrated side garage providing additional secure storage.

But the garden's defining feature is the gate at the bottom. Open it, and you're straight onto the dunes — a short path leads directly to the beach and Beadnell Bay harbour. No road to cross, no car park. Just dunes, sand and sea. From the top of the dunes you can take in sweeping views across Beadnell Bay, the harbour and lime kilns, and Dunstanburgh Castle in the distance.

    Parking & Practical Details
Private driveway with side-by-side parking for up to 3 cars
1 EV charge point on the driveway (guests pay unit cost of electricity used, recorded by the charger)

    High-speed WiFi throughout
    Self check-in via lockbox
Travel cot and high chair available on request

Lovely cottage recently refurbished to a high standard. Well equipped comfortable and very clean. Great location just a short walk over the dunes to get to the beach. The garden was on the small side but plenty of seating provided as well as a built in BBQ.
