"Did not get the room I paid for, on arrival was put into a different building down the road. We did get moved to the proper building the next day but not the room we booked. The room was somewhat run down - needs a coat of paint. No toilet paper holder? Serious electrical safety issue - no panel cover, exposed wires where someone could easily hurt themselves. Wifi was a hit and miss. I will say the bed was comfortable, lots of towels was great and beach items was much appreciated."

"We stayed at Grand Wailea in May 2026. Here's what we thought about it: Good: ---The grounds are gorgeous ---The pool was clever and lots of fun ---The staff was helpful Bad: ---Greed, greed, greed I've never been to a place that seemed so intent on extracting my last dollar from me so ardently. Here are some examples: ---Two pizzas from the take-out restaurant: $70 ---Required valet parking: $75 per day ---Renting a cabana for the day: starting at $650 ---Italian restaurant: hard to walk out without spending $100 There are others, but you get the point. This leaves aside things like the mandatory resort fee. Other reviewers have commented on the inability to get a spot by the pool. We came in low season, and we still didn't bother to try to find a place till 2PM. A big part of the problem is the space taken up by those ludicrously-price cabanas. If those vanished, I'm guessing they could add 25% to the number of pool chairs available. Bottom line: the place is gorgeous (though our room was pretty old and minimally furnished), and the pool is great fun. But unless you are willing to part with lots of money without worrying about it, don't come here. And I'm guessing high season crowding must be insane."

"The balcony was such a good place to zen out after spending your day out on the island. Was able to cook breakfast every morning for my family and had everything we needed. Can we please move here? "

"This was an excellent location. It had everything you need for a family gathering including infants. It had all the gear to go surfing or boogie boarding. Entertaining inside or outside. It was a very private secure location that you felt safe at. We used the bbq and it was great. The mango trees were starting to drop fruit so we got a couple of fresh mangos. We walked locally to take advantage of the food trucks down the way and we also shopped at the local foodland for any additional needs. Highly recommend and if I return to Maui would use again. "
