Overall, our stay was pleasant with many walkable shops and places to eat with a clean and comfortable room. Some cons: the first morning, there was the noise of a truck backing up for around 45 minutes starting before 7 am. While the hotel can’t control this, it was not a pleasant experience. We had a corner room and the inside of the hotel was quiet but the amount of windows in the room wasn’t ideal for me. The curtains appeared to be decent blackout curtains but when it came down to it, in the morning a lot of light came through the cracks making the room light due to how many windows there were. The pool is TINY and only 4ft deep. The outdoor hot tub was very nice though. The workout room was nice but very small if more than one person would like to workout at a time. For instance, my husband and I used it together and it was a bit cramped but it was nice to have the ability to workout nonetheless. It was strange to me that there was no exhaust in the bathroom ( confirmed with another guest they didn’t have one either) and after showering everything was covered in condensation. Online was advertised that the bar was open until 11, however at 10:30 we were advised it was closed. Finally, we left their equivalent of “do not disturb” on the knob when we left for the evening. When we returned, the sign was gone, the room had been straightened, towels restocked and whatnot. I feel this was a violation of privacy as we didn’t have stuff put away and requested do not disturb.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was nice with the balcony. I wasn’t a fan of the contemporary art work but that is my taste. The bathroom was nice with a nice walk-in shower but no exhaust fan in the bathroom. This caused the mirror to fog up which was a little inconvenient. The beds were comfortable. It is within a short walk to downtown and Charlevoix’s beautiful park overlooking Round lake.

The Earl was a cozy “slightly hipster”without attitude Charlevoix surprise. Everyone was very kind. The lounge was cozy and the coffee was great!! The room clean and comfortable with a great bed. Good job Earl👏I enjoyed my stay immensely!

The staff at the Earl were very friendly. The location is great with easy walking distance to beach, lighthouse and Mushroom houses. Continental breakfast was good but best was the 24/7 free espresso machine.

We celebrated our daughter’s 3rd birthday here and chose it because it had a pool and year round outdoor hot tub. I usually shy away from boutique hotels but I was delighted that I took a change on Hotel Earl! It exceeded my expectations every step of the way! We travel all over and often and this was easily one of the top 10 hotel rooms I’ve stayed in! The room was huge and beautifully decorated with tons of character. I could see how the pool and hot tub could get crowded fast in peak season but they were perfect for our April stay! The breakfast was much better than expected and the lady who was working the lo bar/lobby area while we celebrated our daughter’s birthday was so attentive and helpful. She went above and beyond which was definitely not expected but certainly appreciated!! Well done Hotel Earl!!!

Enjoyed our stay, paid for an upgrade from the King Suite I had booked and Im not sute how it was an upgrade but the bed was comfortable! The shower was great. There was construction going on next door so the noise of hammering, pounding was present until about 630p and started Sunday about 8a. The pool and hot tub were amazing and the breakfast was too notch!

Everything about The Earl was fantastic. The room was so nice, super modern! The pool and hot tub was also a lot of fun! The only thing I would change would be the breakfast, maybe add some scrambled eggs, and bacon/sausage. Other than that, the parking lot was always full at night but convenient street parking right next to the hotel. Highly recommend!!

Upon check in, our room was not cleaned. They had no other rooms for us to take, so we waited for staff to “clean.” It was only given a quick once over, and the staff threw away my son’s leftovers. After assuring us we could leave our belongings in the room during cleaning, Staff left our room door open & unlocked while she went elsewhere to gather supplies. Later, I stepped on a screw on the room floor and found a nasty bottle of used KY jelly on the bed platform. Pool was closed half the time, and bummed out the kids. Parking was AWFUL, no room whatsoever, had to park on the street and got ticketed for doing so.
