still waiting on my refund

First of all, we left 1 night early and when I spoke with the owner, she stated that I would get a refund for the night we didn’t stay. Two weeks later I am still waiting and she is now ignoring my requests for an update. There were dangerous protests the weekend we were in town so we decided to cut our trip short. The stay at Suites on Cannon was not at all what I expected. The room we got was nothing like a suite. It was tiny with a bed and a bathroom barely big enough to fit either. The room was never serviced and I called to request more tissues on our first day and they never appeared. The ironing board was a joke and I am someone who tries to look nice when I go out. I paid for parking but when you pay for parking, nowhere does it tell you that Sunday morning you have to move your car from 8:00am-12:00pm. I didn’t find out until I got the email a few days before our stay. It was just nothing like what I expected from the photos or the other reviews. Very disappointed.

The property's air conditioning was controlled by the owner in her unit, not in the individual units - so in order to lower the A/C to cooler temps we would have had to contact the property owner which was not plausible late at night/middle of the night. The walls & floors are also very thin so you could hear the unit upstairs walking around and people outside very easily.

Convenient enough, but know what you're getting

I enjoyed my stay at Suites on Cannon well enough for the short time I was there. The classic building and decorations were endearing and of reasonable quality, though they do admit that the street noise is something to consider when staying. I wish the parking situation were more streamlined and that things like the wifi information were more apparent when you first get to your room. The noise from the upstairs neighbors went well into the night, so the provided sound machine was necessary, and having the door so close to the street can feel less private. I would stay here if I were visiting for fun but maybe not for rest.

Such a wonderful place and gives you that real charleston feel. The room was cleverly decorated for being a studio Allie did a excellent job and is very easy to communicate with. When i come back ill be re booking here very close to downtown.

Charming old house. Room a little small to be listed as a suite. Steep narrow stairs leading to the room. Great location with short walk to free shuttle to tourist areas. Allie the manager was very helpful. Would consider staying there again if in Charleston.
