This house provided the perfect way to get to see Charleston. It is walking distance to everything…shops, restaurants…anything you could want. It is a quaint little house that had everything you could possibly want. Parking on the street is the only con but we only moved the car one day to go see the Plantation.
This place was so great on so many levels. I loved the location — great shops and restaurants all around and within walking distance to downtown Charleston. The hosts were attentive and always answered our questions quickly. They also provided such nice amenities like coffee in the house and shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. The beds were super comfortable, the house was very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen was fully outfitted with utensils, dishes, etc so you could cook meals there too. I would definitely like to come back and stay at the exact same house some day!
This property was perfect for my partner and my college age son while we attended Highwater Festival. Lots of room and very convenient to King Street and tons of restaurants and bars. Highly recommend booking for a great stay in Charleston!
A charming place just like the title states. Cool space, cozy, clean, nice linens and towels, well supplied kitchen and over a dozen restaurants within a 10 minute walk. The free trolley stop is just down at the end of the street too. Perfect location.
The neighborhood was exactly what we wanted. It is within walking distance to many great shops and restaurants since you are 2 blocks from King Street. The amenities fit our needs perfectly. The beds and li ens were so comfy. I would definitely return to this rental.
We totally enjoyed our stay at the Driftwood Cottage! The location was perfect - we walked to King Street for shopping and eating. We look forward to coming back to Charleston and renting here again. Great space -- very comfortable and quaint. Very comfortable beds and bedding, nice kitchen area with coffee set up, and nice TV room where we watched some movies.
We are vrbo owners ourselves, so we know what to look for in a rental. The cleaning company has overlooked things like the air ducts, and the pull out sofa, behind/ under furniture. Otherwise, it’s a very cute place, small, but great location. I’m unclear as to why the bungalow does not get the parking directly next to the door, instead that is for the front of the house.
Couple issues while we were there but management co very responsive. Had to hunt for parking one night as 79B is only allowed street parking. Amenities were nice with plenty of towels, etc. Beds were great! Could use bar in tub as it was slippery when wet.
Great location…close enough to walk to King Street, Charleston Market, and Rainbow Row and far enough away to avoid noise from King Street on a busy Friday/Saturday night. Easy to find street parking with permits onsite (greatly appreciated) from the owner.
Really appreciated all the towels and pillows provided. Very clean and clear instructions on how to check out. Great place for my adult daughter and I to enjoy some quality time in a fun city to visit. Thanks so much!
Very nice property and just as described in the listing. Location is great - the unit is on the back side of a house on a major road leading onto the downtown peninsula. We were there Fri - Sun and didn’t drive much. It was easy to catch an Uber in front of the house. We did walk back from brunch at Poogan s Porch on Saturday. It was just over a mile and totally doable. Inside the unit was very clean and comfy. Not a ton of space, but enough for us to use as a jumping off point. Both bedrooms were basically identical with comfy queen beds. Communication with the host was very good though I did have to ask for the entry code 10 mins after our check-in time. Not a big deal since they responded right away. We’ll definitely consider this property again in the future!
Really wanted this to be a five star review but a rental of any kind, age and location has to have ample hot water to take a shower. Next to cleanliness and water pressure, having ample hot water is most important. The bungalow was very cute, quaint and historic. Very well renovated. Lots of space and comfort and amenities. Location was great. Just need more than 5 minutes of hot water. Can’t recommend this property nor would I be back in the future, unless they get a hot water heater upgrade.
An easy walk to anything we would want to visit and a quick drive to get groceries or do tourist things. Parking was an issue. The only dedicated parking space was reserved for the other unit. Not sure why as it is literally outside our door. We had to squeeze around their car to get to our front door. Street parking was a huge challenge the one night we got back late. We had to circle the block at least 6 times till we finally found a space. The neighboring property has an incredibly bright light that comes on at dusk and shines in the windows all night long. I sleep in a dark room at home and some room darkening curtains would have been greatly appreciated. The kitchen was well-stocked (bring your own salt/pepper and plastic wrap or foil) and the appliances are a dream! The beds were super comfy and the whole place was cozy and bit rustic. We enjoyed our stay!
Great stay!! Perfect location, walking distance to so many great restaurants and activities. The beds were super comfortable as well and had plenty of towels which was great. The hosts were so flexible with our schedule, we arrived super late (1 AM) and had zero issues getting in which was ideal. Highly recommend staying here!
Two friends from different places met in the middle for a one-week vacation. We loved that Charleston is so walkable .... easy access to everything on foot (or free buses).79 Spring Street was a great location and the apartment was nearly perfect.
We had a great time in Charleston while staying at this property. The location was perfect and walking distance to everything we wanted/needed (King St., grocery/liquor stores, Battery, Waterfront Park, etc.). The property was as listed, clean, and comfortable. Host was very responsive as well. I would recommend and stay again!
