Dolphin Watch - Beachfront - Charming - Cozy - Boho hotel!

This oceanfront 1 bedroom 1 bath condo is both charming and cozy. It features hardwood floors, a gas log fireplace, new kitchen cabinets, granite counters, stainless appliances travertine counter in the bath with a vessel sink and new custom tiled walk in shower. This condo is an end unit located on the third (top) floor of the building which gives you more privacy and a wonderful ocean breeze for those warm summer nights. You can enjoy both beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the covered porch as you watch the dolphins play.

There is a private boardwalk over the dunes right on to the beach. The Folly Fishing Pier is just steps away and you are only one block from downtown 'Funky Folly'. Walk to the many wonderful restaurants, bars and beach shopping. Also, downtown Charleston is only 12 miles away if you choose to venture off the beach.

This is the owners' personal condo. We enjoy the unit often and even got married here. We hope you will enjoy your stay here as much as we do!

Beach getaway

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. Perfect size for 2 people. Close to the Pier and easy walk to restaurants and shops. We loved sitting on the balcony soaking in the front beach views both at sunrise and in the evening with the moon reflecting on the ocean. The fall weather while we were there was just perfect.

Short get away

We just love Folly Beach and wanted to be right on the beach this time. Although the porch was extremely nice as was the view, i felt like there might have been an animal in the condo so i had a reaction. Since the listing said no pets allowed, i thought there had been no pets at all. Great locations though

Great location

The condo location is really great - a few doors down from the pier and walkable to everything in Folly Beach. You walk down the stairs, across a wooden pathway and you're on the beach. We had some mechanical/repair issues and the owner was responsive. Be sure to bring your own soap for the shower as well as shampoo, conditioner as they are not provided. There was hand soap, some dishwasher tabs and laundry tabs which was very handy. The location would make this a great place for a longer stay. You do have to walk up 3 flights of stairs so if mobility is an issue, this would not be a good selection but if you want to be right on the beach and a few blocks from everything - including Bert's - this is a good choice.

Folly beach

The view is amazing! The condo on the other hand was just ok. The keypad door knob was loose and about falling off the front door. It wasn’t as clean as you would expect. We found someone’s fake fingernail on the living room floor. When I ran the dishwasher there was still a soap in it. I’m not sure the dishes we had been eating off of were actually clean. There was no tv in the bedroom. We had to buy toilet paper while we were there because there was only one roll for a five day stay. I got an email from the host giving me information about our stay at 10pm when our checkin was 10 am. I was not impressed with this property, but again, the view of the ocean was amazing!

Great location but a few things you should know…

The condo has a fantastic view of the ocean and pier. But unfortunately on our trip, the beach refurbishment was taking place pretty much right next to our condo. That information was not disclosed in the booking and we could hear the trucks beeping and working all night. That was a huge bummer. Our neighbors also said the same thing. As much money as we spent on the short weekend trip we were there, that information should have been given to us. We could even hear them while we were trying to relax on the beach and the trucks would go by, drag the sand, and honk their horns at the people on the beach. Not so relaxing. The condo was beautiful, not the cleanest, but it was fine for just the two of us. One of the neighbors had a dog and it barked A LOT! Overall , the condo was nice. Just wish we would have known these things before booking.

Fantastically beautiful overlook of the ocean and pier right on the beach! We truly were able to watch dolphins playing in the the ocean with the first rays of the morning sun as well as fisher birds diving for their meals, right from our deck! Everything you need is just a short walk away: excellent restaurants, coffee, shopping, music and more. This is our second stay at Dolphin Watch, and there will definitely be more!
