WIFI | Hot Tub | Lake View & Lake Access | 1 Dog Allowed
The moment you open the door at Summerset, something shifts. The music is already playing.
The lake fills the window. You haven't even set down your bags and you already feel it — that
particular exhale that only happens when you've truly arrived somewhere. Summerset is small,
intimate, and beachy in the best possible way: floor-to-ceiling windows, a deck that faces Lake
Huron straight on, and a hot tub waiting for you whenever you're ready. This is the cottage that
feels like a friend's best-kept secret — and now you're in on it.
Step inside and the bright, airy feel wraps around you immediately.
INSIDE
The living room earns its keep here: a full wall of windows, a sectional couch that makes it hard
to go anywhere, and a view of the lake that does all the work. The kitchen is genuinely wellstocked — guests mention it consistently — with a gas stove and everything you need to cook a
proper meal or keep things simple. A handwritten postcard, fresh baked bread, ground coffee,
chocolates, and winery coupons are waiting on the counter when you arrive. The vibe
throughout is warm, light, and just the right kind of unhurried.

OUTSIDE:
The deck is where Summerset earns its reputation. Guests say it every time: it's bigger than the
photos let on. Sink into the Tucson loungers and listen to the birds and the Lake Huron breeze
— this is the nap that rewrites the whole trip. The retractable awning shades the dining table
when the afternoon sun comes in low, the propane BBQ is there when someone decides tonight
is a grill night, and the hot tub sits waiting at the edge of it all, facing the lake directly.
Get in the hot tub as the sun goes down. The views from it — especially on a clear evening —
are the kind you'll try to describe to people at home and completely fail at. Come in the shoulder
seasons and you'll have the whole sky to yourselves, stars overhead, water glittering below.
This is the off-season trip that becomes the trip people talk about all year.
Down the private staircase (approximately 60 steps — worth every one of them), the beach is
waiting. A fire pit. The easy laughter that only comes when no one has anywhere to be. Build
the fire, play on the sand, let the dog wade in. The beach is shared with about 10 neighbouring
cottages, all quiet, all friendly. The lakebed shifts by the day — sandy or stoney, with sand
generally appearing 3 feet out — and it's a geologist's paradise for stone collectors. Just bring
water shoes for the rocky entry.
Back inside, the couch in the living room with the floor-to-ceiling windows is where you settle in
with a book and don't move for two hours. The lake light does all the reading with you.
NOTE: Approx. 60 stairs down your private access. The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.
Parking is limited to 2 vehicles.

ABOUT YOUR HOST
I'm Jennifer, I started CottageStays to share my own home with like-minded travelers who appreciate escaping to life at a slower pace. I've never forgotten how lucky I am to call Lake Huron home.
