The hotel had great improvement from dec2022. Sir Christian the manager is very friendly and accommodating. He listens to suggestions. He also is a hard worker 14 hours a day. He is always there n on top of everything esp with the customers.

No hot water
No hot water in the shower. I inquired with the front desk about this and was told that it had been like that for several weeks. So if you are ok with cold showers, this is a good hotel.

i booked this hotel for my friends & they are so disappointed because of VERY popr service. They are wondering why when place looks new & big, but they are very not approachable & hard to call

2 adults and 2 children but only 2 breakfast were delivered,tv only 1 channel, told Staff Shower was broken And told us to use a faucet and bucket, unacceptable conditions, will not be returning, avoid!!

Old hotel. Rooms are not worth the price paid. Bathrooms are old and dirty. No shower curtain. Water all over floor always. Tv reception is bad. Wifi slow. Restaurant food below average. Many times told "item not available sir." Most disappointed with customer service and management. Had problem with dirty table at breakfast. Noticed all tables and table cloths were dirty. Politely wiped my own table, then, complained. Then, was basicallly argued with and laughed at by 4 or 5 employees. Could not believe this treatment! Asked to speak to owner of hotel. "Not available sir." Asked when owner would arrive? "Don't know sir." Asked for owner's phone number. "Don't have it sir." Asked for hotel manager. "Not here yet sir." Asked for manager's time of arrival? "Not sure sir." On and on. Unbelievable treatment and service!! Disgusting! Thought i had experienced bad treatment in the philippines before this. Wow, was i wrong! What's the worst, is, your stuck many times like this in the philippines. Nowhere to go for help. So sad. It's 2020, and, the philippines still has no uniform concept of how to deal with basic problems and complaints.

Friendly staff, nearby amenities, good condition rooms, good Airconditioned, prompt service. Only at times during night, Wifi is quite slow. But overall it's surely a beautiful stay here. Thank you.

Bed sheet felt so itchy amd rough. Felt there was heaps of dust and not cleaned properly. The staff didnt know upon asking for converter for charger. Location was a convenient, lighting of room v dim and dark.

Our room was clean and comfortable but I'm a bit disappointed with the bathroom because of the old rusty colored shower curtain. they should replace it with a new one. and lastly, the wifi is too slow.

Was a great stay.
We had a great stay. Bed was comfy,service was pretty good except for one night that when they make up our room,the housekeeper forgot to replace the coffee and cups as well as the towels. So i called up the frontdesk and they send my request right away. Buffet breakfast every morning is hearty healthy,we all love it. Our room was small and cant view the city but it dont really mind. Eventhough the room was not so spacious its pretty comfy to stay. I slept well. And totally enjoyed our stay. Definitely going to stay here again

The staff was accommodating but OJTrainees are too many and are not very familiar with the hotel's services. The food are just OK except for some inclusions in the breakfast buffet. They seem to be prepared in a way that quality was not very much considered (cake, coffee, soup). The food in the restaurant are OK and affordable. Moreover, we had a bad experience with the tours that they offer but we were told that the lapses were from the tour provider. The cost was way expensive and our expectations were not meant. We gave them this feedback and they responded accordingly by giving a discount. I guess we will not come back here as we prefer value for our money.

I stayed her twice with my family. The rooms for three adults is perfect, but they give families with children rooms too small to walk in. The staff was helpful, but one girl at the front desk tried to make me pay for printing, only to find out is is free. Be careful for staff adding surcharges, especially if they increase the price for billing to your room: the intention is to pocket the money. Otherwise, super clean and the beds are comfortable.

Never again. The doors start slamming at 4:30 in the morning in the halls and sounds like a bomb going off. Then people keep slamming their doors three or four times consecutively like their trying to get it to lock. Our door also was hard to lock. Nice staff sad they have such bad noise in the halls.

Hotel charged 350 pesos for stained hand towel
Hotel charged us 350 peso (about 10sgd) for a menstrual blood stained towel. The stain was about the size of a 5 peso coin (less 1 inch in diameter). I had already soaked the towel in water so the stain could easily be washed off with soap. But no, they decided to overcharge us for something which they should already be washing and sterilising. If the hotel wanted to charge us so they could buy a new towel then fine. But to use this as an opportunity to profit is pretty ridiculous.

We have verified your issue with the stained linen and have found that the stained linen was dried up blood which would be harder to take off and also, based on the report of the Laundry attendant they tried washing it with our chemicals but will require a day for curing to fully take out the stain and sterilization. It was also stated in the welcome letter upon check in and the hotel policy attached on your door that there will be specific charges for hard stains. Great hotel, great service,great food, great price
Southpole has become our "go to" hotel in Cebu.The staff is excellent, the rooms comfortable and clean and the WiFi is beyond belief for the Philippines (notoriously slow nationally). I cannot compliment the food enough. The free breakfast was hot, slightly varied from one day to the next and always tasty. But the restaurant for the other meals has to be mentioned. The picture in the menu doesn't do it justice. I ordered the BBQ Platter, which in the menu didn't look that big. When it came there was enough there to feed four people... for Ph550 (about $12 US). I suppose they should probably note that it is for 2 people or more, but for some folks' appetite it might be for one. :-0
