Very rundown. Looks like it has never had any maintenance work. Dirty. Lazy staff. Very dissatisfied as it is a good location and has great potential to be a nice place.

i wish the byke had better trained and more attentive staff.. the condition of most rooms are deplorable and most of the air conditioners and mini fridge in the rooms don't work.. one of my friends mobed 3 rooms in 4 days!

The Byke is very run down I'm afraid . The buildings need thousands spending on them to bring them up to scratch - they are damp and in a very poor state of disrepair. However the staff are wonderful, the gardens phenomenal, and the hotel couldn't be in a better location. The restaurant, recreational areas, pool very good. The problem is the poor condition of the rooms.

The property is run down and absolutely crappy. Found a coach roach in the breakfast. Breakfast is veg. The staff are pretty non-service trained and speak Hindi only. I found a couple of guest complaining about the maintenance and upkeep of the rooms. Really not worth the price. The security are rude and don’t care about the paying guest.

I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you are happy with extremely cheap. Room is full of mosquitos and room was not fully clean - lots of dust everywhere. Service was poor - it took 3 calls before anything would be done/if at all. Pool water was extremely cloudy too. Unless you literally want a cheap bed, I would recommend staying elsewhere

This is a basic hotel resort similar to many timeshare resorts in Spain The staff were helpful The breakfast was included Food from various countries so you should be able to find something for your taste The room I had included basic air conditioning and a TV

Happy holiday
After reading lots of very bad reviews I thought we would try it for a couple of nights, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean , the television worked, it had a kettle and tea and coffee, the bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed our breakfast. The hotel is two minutes walk to the beach .mainly Russian visitors there .

Rooms were outdated, linnen and towels were old and stained. The gym that is mentioned on their website has been closed for months and will be closed for the coming months. Breakfast is only vegetarian, not including eggs, so was limited for me. Location is good, pool is nice but closes really early (6 I believe).

Worst hotel & Service i Have come across !
I have been travelling to Goa for last 10 years and this the worst hotel and sevice I have come across. Firstly when we tried checking in they told us room was not ready so could we go have lunch and come back. When we returned after 2.5 Hrs the room was still not ready. Then they offered to show us another room , I checked out the room but when we returned back to Reception they said the room was given to someone and we should take original room as it was ready . After all this drama we checked into our room. I decided to take a bath 2 mins into my bath and the water stops ... after trying all the knobs I somehow managed ro get the soap off with the towel and came out and called reception. They promised to send someone within 5 mins but no one turned up after waiting i again called and was given the same message. Finally after half n hour the water was restored. Then finally when I got thru the bath, I realised the drain was not working properly and i hv water all over the bathroom. Next day the breakfast was a sad affair . Watery tea / coffee, oily puri with moong sabzi / Upma which looked as if someone and cooked it with Gallon of water. But I must say checking out was a breeze , they were very prompt in collecting the payment. Over all a bad experience.

A personal item of mine went missing from the room while I was out. My understanding was that the cleaners had been in earlier. I reported the loss at reception and they told me they would investigate and get back to me, if necessary by email. To date I have still not had a response.

Worst experience ever, springs sticking out of mattresses hardly any hot water for shower. Nobody spoke or understood English apart from reception staff. Only lentils were severed for breakfast. I'll never recommend or use that place again.

Please Book another Hotel, do not stay here.
We booked this hotel months ago. When we arrived we could not stay here and had to find another hotel. It is a total disgrace the management are to blame they set no standards for the poor staff looking after the place. I feel sorry for anyone who has booked and has to stay here. Fortunately we were in a position to move to another place up the road. We have written 4 times to the management to get a response before posting a review. We have waited 2 months now and still no repsosne. They clearly do not care.

Worse hotel I have ever stayed in!
We stayed for 2nights. The pool was flithy back mould in it! I think your people should go and see it . You need to take it off your books! I would never stay there again. I can't think of anything what was good about it. Anyone wanting to book it don't!!! BE WARNED!!!!

A pleasant surprise
After reading the reviews on here and having already booked I was really apprehensive, however, given that the outside building would benefit a lick of paint, the inside however and accommodation was more than I'd expected, it's was clean, modern and more than comfortable, housekeeping was delivered daily and being in the holiday industry myself was quite scrupulous but they fulfilled in every part. I didn't eat in the restaurant simply due to my visiting friends in the area and dining with them. The location is fantastic, the beach a stone throw away, lined with friendly beach shacks and amazing food, the other side of the hotel sits on the riverside riverside, this encompassed with their beautifully kept gardens was a pleasure to sit and relax. I travel a lot and have a lot to compare my findings with, my advice is give this place a go, the price is reasonable and you get more for your money than you would expect, the staff are friendly and I have nothing to complain about. Enjoy your time in Cavelossim, head to Seaway Shack and try the chicken xacute with ginger rice, the best I've tasted so far in Goa! I hope that this was helpful for you...

Enjoyed the stay. Great location with the River on one side and short walk to the beach with great swimming and excellent beachside restaurants. We though Cavalossim was much nicer, cleaner than Colva Beach. The resort is a bit jaded, especially on the outside due to it's age. But inside is quite nice in the rooms and facilities. Thought is was pricey for India but I guess that was the high season over New Year. Got stung with the mandatory New's Celebration at $30 each a head. It was a great party but was unclear on the booking what it was for. Would have gone anyway but the fact it was a compulsory is something to watch out for. Wifi only in loby.

Nice food, terrible service, disappointing room
Check in slow and unpleasant- hotel didn't acknowledge booking at first and receptionist was rude. Room big enough but awful condition:Cigarette burns in cheap furniture, no hot water, dirty linen, bathroom STANK unless very noisy fan was left on 24hrs. I booked half board and enjoyed the food very much, but was HARRASSED for payment at first (marched from restaurant to reception by insolent waiter) despite my prepayment online. Housekeeping disturbed me at 1am to bring water (not requested)! Random attempts to open my door at all hours. Inappropriate comments from one male member of staff. Did not always feel safe as a single female. Proximity to beach and good food redeemed my stay but in 2 decades of seasoned travel in 50 countries this was a lowlight for me.

Pathetic experience with hotel Byke Old Anchor
The experience completely spoiled our trip to Goa, the hotel stay turned out to be a nightmare the hotel was over booked and we could see people fighting for rooms, no room service at all, there was a waiting of 1 to 2 hrs at the hotel restaurant before they could serve food, even the room service on call said we do not have staff right now so sending water could talk about half an hour. Hotel rooms were very old and seriously required maintenance there was water seepage and rooms were stinking.... really poor service and hospitality.. :-(

Horrific experience. All rooms are leaking. I was shown 4 diff room options but same state. Greek mold growing all over. Lunch took almost 2 hours to arrive. Diabetic old members in family had to eat biscuits to stay alive and avoid hypoglycaemia. The property is leased by management and hence absolutely no maintenance. Don't be fooled by pics in the site.

Worst I have experienced.
I called up Expedia before making the booking as it was matter of 4 families stay. They highly recommended "The Old Byke hotel" for family stay and we booked the deluxe class rooms When we reached this Hotel after 14 hours drive they offered us the rooms which were stinking like hell and they didn't manage to fix it even they changed our rooms 2-3 times. Worst I have experienced. If you want to spoil your holiday please stay at Byke Resort. We made a big mistake by making a booking here. Here is my feedback on the resort: 1. Rooms: Damp rooms with stink of dampness. This is the worst thing. Rooms are big and spacious but are damp. They are not properly maintained and cleaned. Mattresses are old and springs hurt, I had to get it changed even saw many people getting them changed. The upholstery not cleaned with dust and food particles, Open switch boards, stained blankets. The bathroom walls dirty. 2. Pathetic service. Order comes in well 45 minutes not less. The waiters don't bother to clean tables or take order even after repeatedly saying for at least 30 minutes. The staff in restaurants are so pathetic that they don't bother whatever you tell them, probably they are accustomed I called Expedia team around 4-5 time but didn't get any help from your side as well.

The Byke Old Anchor is very visibly an old acquired property which has been taken over by inexperienced hoteliers. The hotel/resort has not seen much of any touch up work for a while now I think. Restaurant - is very bad. Food is sub-par, Kitchen is extremely slow and annoyed customers are a common sight there. Swimming pool - Barely cleaned I think. A lot of chlorine and not much else.

Not a good expereince. Customer service is bad. Food was not at all good. The phone numbers shared by Expedia were outdated. We found it very hard to reach the hotel. The door locks were pathetic. It broke off and all our luggage was stuck in the room. We had to wait in wet clothes including my small kids. The hotel guys didn't respond for more than an hour.

Ideal hotel to relax at with a beach.
A comfortable stay with good vegetarian food which caught us by surprise. Sluggish but pleasant service. Problems were sorted out sincerely. The reception lounge needs some improvement and the washroom there needs lots!

Can be recommended. Front office & room facilities are good. I had a very bitter experience of forcing us to take breakfast with an India group & stopped us from entering the restaurant. The comment was that it was reserved for foreigners. I found it ridiculous as the foreigners were happy having breakfast with us on the previous day.This may be a nasty behavior by some restaurant manager but definitely hurt the emotions. As we are on a short stay & want to enjoy to the fullest we have not taken it as an issue.
