About the Dog Trot House at our Texas BlissWood vacation ranch offers plenty of open space inside & out and includes a pool (not heated) and large deck surrounded by large live oaks.

It is perfect for those wanting to experience a Texas vacation ranch. The front porch with rockers faces a serene pasture. Two suites (Magnolia Suite and Loft Suite) are separated by large breezeway, so each suite has privacy.

At certain times of the year, the suites may be rented separately or together and share the private pool, not available to other guests on property, and entire house must be reserved except from January 2nd to February 28.

Fully furnished kitchen features a large farm table in dining area and a gas BBQ grill in the backyard. Magnolia Suite has queen bed, sleeper, trundle bed, plus a galley kitchen with two-burner stove top. A fireplace adorns each suite (wood furnished by BlissWood), the Magnolia Suite has a jetted tub for two, and the pool at the Dog Trot House is for Dog Trot House guests only.

A continental breakfast is included in your lodging rate and is placed in your house or cabin and there upon arrival, for you to enjoy at your leisure each morning. It includes coffee, tea, bagels and cream cheese, muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, and granola bars. If you choose to opt-out of breakfast when booking your reservation online, you will receive a discount, but no breakfast will be provided during your stay with us if you choose to opt out for the discount. All of our houses and cabins do feature either full or efficiency kitchens, so you have the option to cook during your stay. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate gluten-free diets with our breakfast offerings and recommend opting out of breakfast if you have allergies.

Whether you are coming for a family vacation, corporate retreat, or a romantic getaway in Texas, our Texas Bed and Breakfast Ranch is your destination for a unique vacation. Enjoy a peaceful country setting with your choice of 12 houses and cabins on the main Ranch.

*Our accommodations are equipped with optional internet stations for those who wish to access the web. For a nominal fee of $10 per day, you can choose to plug into the online world. Or if you're looking to unwind and unplug, there's no need to do anything-simply enjoy the serenity of the countryside!

Experience an authentic Texas getaway at BlissWood Bed and Breakfast Ranch. Viewing (and petting of some) ranch animals and nature walks, birding, hiking, or bicycling on our ranch trails are all included activities with no additional charge. Horseback riding, trap shooting, archery, and catch & release bass fishing in our stocked lakes are other adventures waiting for you on site.

*Golf carts: We also have a limited number of Golf Carts available for rent for those who would prefer to roam the ranch on motorized wheels. Please ask and book in advance. Also note that you must be at least 18 years of age to drive our golf carts. Children are strictly not permitted to drive.

*Catch & release bass fishing: Fishing enthusiasts can catch-and-release bass in the ranch's stocked lakes.

*Picnics: We can also arrange for picnics in the Gazebo at Enchanted Lake.

*In-room massage: Massages in the rooms are available with prior arrangements.

*Trapshooting: BlissWood furnishes gun, ammo, clays & instructor

*Hiking: BlissWood has plenty of places for a leisurely hike. Looking out over the fields you may catch a glimpse of grazing deer.

Nearby Craft Beer: Check out one of our favorite watering holes, Huff Brewing Company. Located in Bellville, it's a beautiful 20-minute scenic drive from our ranch. Order a picnic to go for the perfect afternoon adventure.

It was a nice property and very beautiful. The owner was very nice and extremely attentive.But the pool area had multiple black widows like it hadn’t been clean in a good while.The chairs recovered in spiderwebs. We couldn’t even sit down on them.when someone was sent over to clean them off, she barely swept them and told me that I had spray under the sink and I could use it if I needed to. I went back out to the pool and the black widow was still there. So we didn’t let the kids get back in.The magnolia suite was very hot and very humid. We were not able to sleep comfortably in there. It wasn’t cooling even at 72 degrees It definitely needed a portable AC unit in there like the other suite.The show barn was an experience and the staff was amazing and great with my kids.
