Search Castella hotels

The best time to visit Castella is during the late spring to early autumn months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is consistently pleasant and ideal for exploring the region.

During May and June, the countryside is particularly lush and green, with wildflowers in bloom, making it a beautiful time for scenic drives and walks. The temperatures are comfortable, usually ranging from 18°C to 25°C, superb for enjoying outdoor activities without the intensity of the peak summer heat. This period is excellent for couples who want to experience the tranquil beauty of the French countryside and visit local markets.

July and August are the warmest months, with temperatures often between 25°C and 30°C. This is peak season, so the village and surrounding attractions will be more bustling. It's an ideal time for families, as many local events and festivals take place, and the warmer weather is superb for enjoying activities like swimming in nearby lakes or rivers. However, booking accommodation and popular restaurants in advance is advisable during these months.

September offers a lovely transition, with slightly cooler temperatures returning, usually around 20°C to 26°C, and fewer crowds than the height of summer. The grape harvest often begins, providing a unique opportunity to witness local traditions.
