"the breakfasts were amazing. Carol and Kate were great hosts. My wife and I only had one complaint, that was the bed was way too soft. This is obviously personal preference. We would definitely stay here again. Galenda is an historical town with a lot of charm. We loved our trip. The Steamboat House was a great place to stay. Thanks Carol and Kate."

"Far beyond what we anticipated. Warmly greeted and show to our room. Top line toiletries and added touches. Yes our room was small but well appointed and we did not plan to spend much time in the room. Wine and cheese at 5:30. 3-course breakfast at 8:30 am. Amazing! Will be back!"

"We traveled to Galena for Father's Day weekend with 6 adults. The property is as described as an 1800s mansion, it is unique, very large and beautiful. Jim is a great host, very responsive and attentive to details. Each bedroom comes with toiletries, hair dryers, extra linens, and towels, there is a Keurig in the kitchen with coffee, plenty of dishes for prepping or cooking and an ice maker. The entertainment room and parlor with bumper pool was a real treat. Downtown is a short stroll away and there was plenty of parking at the property. The house is old, so some of the doors you have to use the deadbolt to close because of the age of the wood, and don't expect to sneak around quietly as the floors give you away! Though that is character of an old house and we loved it. We joked a lot about all of the stairs as the kitchen, media room and a bedroom are on the second floor and the remaining bedrooms on the third so you will get your steps in! Galena is always a great town to visit and this mansion is perfect for a group."

"Everything was top notch. Evolve was the only part that created a stumble. They failed to send cabin info and check-in codes. They did apologize.The host was available if any help was required once were in the cabin. The view created a woodsy admosphere, and when combined with the wildlife we felt a calm sink into us. We will return to the cabin again. There is a sign on the road directing us to the cabin, which was appreciated in the darkness!"
