Walled City 2-bedroom 2-bath Condo with Patio
Experience Cartagena culture at our central 2-unit Republican style building.
The apartment is ideal for individual couples, pairs of couples, and families, including use of an outdoor patio shared with another visiting family. There is a beautiful spiral staircase and a cute kitchenette.
The neighborhood is vibrant during the day, quieter at night. The living space is open-air, a layout authentic to Cartagena, with AC only in the bedrooms.
Our space is natural, traditional, practical, and comfortable. The open-air kitchen and dining, plants, bedroom balconies, tile floors and bathroom finishing make it stylized and unique. At the same time the bedroom ACs, appliances, and central location help make it comfortable and practical. This is a residence, that while renovated and strategically modernized, still retains it's spirit as an elegant and authentic house within the walled city of Cartagena.
We like to reiterate that the living space is open air, the way it used to be in Cartagena. Please make sure this is an experience you are seeking. The guests who read and know this, love it.
Since it's such a natural space, we may need to enter to water plants, and turn off ACs left running to help conserve energy.
Each bedroom has a balcony, private bathroom, and AC. All apartment appliances were purchased in November 2021. The space is not recommended for guests with high sensitivity to city dust and noise.
if you are 5 guests, be aware we have a queen and sofa bed in the master bedroom, and a king size bed that can be split into two twins in the second bedroom. We can also provide a floor mattress.
There is a shared patio directly above the living space, reached by going up the spiral staircase, and separated by a waist high lockable gate.. This is a great space to grill, watch sunsets, relax with a simple mist shower.
Lastly, the goal of the space is modern comfort in an authentic Walled City home. The Walled City has centuries old sewers, can be very hot and the ACs generate heavy humidity which stain bedroom walls. The walls are treated continuously for mold and stains, but any guest with a high sensitivity to dust, mold, and street noise may not find this Walled City apartment appropriate for them.
We like to reiterate that a patio shared with one more apartment rests on top of this apartment's open-air spaces. A lockable waist high veranda gate separates the patio from access to the deck, kitchen, living and dining rooms of this apartment.
Some street noise can filter into the bedrooms at night, which bedroom fans and white noise speakers drown out for light sleepers.
Lastly, we can't allow any type of loud or disruptive activity or event on the property that will disturb our neighbors.
