We were initially shocked when we turned up, after having booked through Expedia and fully paid, to be told by Reception that we had to pay a further £25 for our room. Apparently the room we booked wasn't available! The room we had was very nice and the beds were comfy. The spa was a bit old looking and the changing rooms too but the swimming pool was nice. Overall a nice overnight stay.
Staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. They made my daughters birthday very special by placing a happy birthday balloon in the room along with cakes to start the celebrations. Her wish was to stay in a nice hotel in Cardiff and the hotel excelled her expectations. Thank you
Convenience to city centre.
Good breakfast
Nice reception staff
Beds not that comfortable
Showers far too weak
Air con ineffective
No info in rooms re checkout times, breakfast times
Ineffective hair dryer - had to use my own

The parking situation is a bit of a pain, as there is none on site. Room was clean. We were told when we arrived that the swimming pool etc was extra, which is something we had never experienced in a hotel. However, the staff allowed us a complementary pass. The leisure facilities were not clean and need updating.
Wonderful stay. Hotel very well maintains and in great location

Really, really disappointing that hotel guests have to pay, in addition to the room fee, to use the hotel swimming pool (5 British pounds/ person)!!
During the weekend there was a good children’s area set up near the lobby with movies, Lego and games.
Clean room, staff very friendly and happy to help. Lovely onsite restaurant, the food was delicious. Overall for our first stay it was made lovely. We will be back.

I was with the impression that there was an onsite parking for the hotel as it was advertised as with but on arrival I found out that there was none but there is a pay parking close to the hotel (rates a bit pricey for me).
Swimming pool was also advertised as part of the booking but was told that on premium booking has free pool access, end up paying £5 per head to use the pool.
Room air-conditioning were preset and cannot be changed, the weather was a bit humid when we were there so unable to comfortably sleep as room temperature is hot and windows cannot be opened to let cool air in.
Plus side, it is situated near the town centre and some attractions so no need to drive around saving on parking fees.
Breakfast is off good standard
Nice room with a wonderful view. Staff friendly and efficient. Hotel excellent though restaurant was poor and overpriced. Breakfast excellent and good value.
Edward stood out as an exceptionally helpful member of staff. So informative, friendly and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. He went above and beyond and we were very grateful as it was our first visit to Cardiff.
We had a deluxe room which was very comfortable, executive lounge was an added bonus.
Breakfast was amazing, plenty of of choice.
Reception staff were lovely and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was gorgeous.
However the spa area was dreadful, gym was small changing rooms were awful, run down and grubby. No private changing facilities. Tiles were mouldy the toilets smelt very bad. In the pool area the whole area was grubby bits of tiles missing and covered with masking tape. The tiles around the hot tub were mouldy, window sills were rotting and flaking away. Not what I expected from a luxury chain like the Hilton. Very disappointing.
I would return to the hotel but would avoid the spa and pool area.

The room was nice and spacious but the bathroom looked dated specially the door. We pulled the beds together because we had children with us and where the bed was it was very dirty on the floor we found the an old dried cheeto under the bed which was not pleasant. The amenities were really good we really enjoyed the swimming pool, steam and sauna. Breakfast service was good and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. The views from the room over the castle were also really nice.
The hotel location is perfect for exploring Cardiff on foot. There is access to two car parks within easy walking distance.
The rooms were clean with friendly staff and also offered great spa facilities.
The breakfast buffet was superb with a large range of hot and cold food.

When we arrived we were surprised at how loud and rowdy the crowd in the bar were and then later this was replaced by a large number of loud and drunk teenagers later on attending their prom! The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was perfect and the staff were more than helpful, but the noise and the building works going on outside made the stay slightly less enjoyable than it would have been otherwise.
The hotel was pleasant and staff were excellent. Disappointed the gym wasn’t open till 8am so was unable to use it in the mornings before getting out to a conference.
