Rooms were basic bathroom in need of improvement silicone sealant very poor black mould which there is no need of this can be controlled by cleaners using vitality spray cleaner,flooring badly fitted. Leisure facilities were very good staff very friendly pleasant location.

Overall , good for the price. But could do with some TLC, it has a lot of potential. Staff were lovely, hotel could do with some renovations/cleaning. The grounds and courtyard were beautiful.

Set In lovely surroundings. We had the heritage room which was clean and very spacious. We used the spa facilities which we enjoyed relaxing in. Lovely breakfast. All staff were helpful and polite. Would visit again.

I had an economy room which was fine, the bed was ok, room had a good shower, but by preference would have liked option of a bath. Spa facilities were good, the hot tub was very theraputic, but a shame you had to get out and walk a few meters to restart the jets. ( I was suffering from sciatica so this made it difficult! ) the grounds and surrounds were superb. Only thing that really let this place down was the breakfast. The sausages were not great quality and were barely cooked, the eggs were over done and the jugged coffee was instant made up too strong, despite having a coffee machine in the bar which would have made much better morning coffee. Probably nice place for a day spa if you are in the area!

On checking in, I was not given any information about the hotel and facilities. What time is breakfast?, when is the pool open? Etc. I was asked if I'd stayed at the hotel before and then told you know where your room is then, not even told my room number. On entering the room it was extremely hot, no window open, no air con and no fan either. Breakfast was buffet style, with very little choice. Not up to the usual high standard

I stayed in a room that was very dated and very basic. Stayed in better ☆☆ in my travels. Wifi was more or less non existent. Ventured over to the pool and spa. Steam room I have had more steam in my bath. Cold air keeps coming in.

Sadly quite run down
The grounds and main area of the hotel are beautiful but sadly the room (45) was dreadful. It was dark, dingy & cramped. The carpets were very old and dirty, pine furniture everywhere, tiny window and poor decor with chunks missing. The bathroom smelt of urine and the flooring wasn’t even down properly, the toilet roll holder was missing from the wall and the area around the bath was black from old mould. In the end I was happy to get out of there but it’s such a shame as it could be such a lovely place to stay.
