The Apartments are in a leafy suburb close enough to the eateries at Manuka to walk down and return with supplies and food. I had continental breakfast for $15 which was excellent with lots of fresh fruit, home made muesli, breads, flavoured milks, fruit juice and coffee ( help yourself to as much as you want from a machine able to make all varieties of coffee. Excellent value and the staff very friendly. The restaurant I did not sample while there.
I would book again on a rturn visit.

I have stayed at the Diplomat on my visits to Canberra for years and find it convenient, with good parking and well appointed, spacious rooms. The cleanliness is excellent and is is very close to Manuka, which has great shops and restaurants. Great for couples or families but not a 'buzzing' area for those wanting night life.

This was our second stay here and the staff and service was still fantastic. I would recommend them to anyone if I had to say there was anything I wasn't too happy with was the availability of parking in area near our room. We had to park around side and underneath the hotel which was a away from room and main parking area and seemed less secure.

Capital Hill, overlooking Lake Burley Griffin, is the literal and figurative highpoint of Canberra’s Parliamentary Triangle. The grass-topped Parliament House is located here, as is the National Portrait Gallery, the National Archives, and several embassies and high commission offices. Across the water by bridge are Kings and Commonwealth Parks.
