nice room but balcony door didn't shut very well and quite noisey ( we didn't mention this and staff were apologetic )
We also paid for a mountain view which was oversold ( room 2) but the staff were very good and room was comfortable
Amazing stay at L’ermitage! Me and my partner celebrated our engagement, and we couldn’t have chosen a better spot to do so❤️
A bit few options for dinner (especially for us who are vegan), but the scenery, room, ambiance and hospitality really makes up for it👏
Amazing little place slightly off the beaten track in Franschoek, but worth it. Had an beautiful villa with amazing staff who couldn’t have been more friendly… would recommend to everyone!
The property is beautiful and room amazing. The town center and restaurants are an easy drive away. The only small negative was the light pollution in our room which faced the road. It would be better to take a lake view room.
All in all a wonderful stay.
I can't say enough how friendly and accommodating the staff were. We were a large party (9 people) and they arranged a last minute restaurant reservation and transport for us without any hesitation on a busy evening. Also, the location and the resort itself were breathtaking and their pictures don't do it justice. Will definitely be returning.
The property is simply stunning. It’s so charming and the staff are wonderful.
It’s a 20 min walk from the Main Street in Franschoek or a few pounds in an Uber. Don’t use the recommended car service from the hotel as it was 3 x more expensive than an Uber.
Out toom eas lovely with a small kitchen are and separate dressing room and bathroom with both a huge bath and a separate shower.
The buffet breakfast was lovely and the views even better!
I made a booking at this hotel for a weekend away with friends and it was fantastic. The room was spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. We chose to have breakfast included in the stay which was delicious and abundant. Tucked under the mountains, the villa's made us feel like we were in our own little French Village. The hotel is slightly outside of the main street of Franschhoek, so it helped that we had our own car for easy access in and out of town.
We drove 6 hours to have a girls spoil weekend and when we arrived the WiFi and the hot water were not working. We didn’t have hot water until the next morning 9am.
Absolutely beautiful place surrounded by mindblowing nature with mauntains, pond with fishes, and vineyards. The hotel is sophisticated, seclude and peaceful. Extremely spacious room and bathroom with two basins, shower cabin and bath tub. Big space, high cellings and a lot of lights! The personnel is kind, attentive and extremely helpful. Gavin, the hotel manager, is exceptional, highly professional and the absolute treasure. He surrounds the guests with the five star hotel care and shares great recommendations on making the days in Franschhoek remarkable. We had a wonderful time thanks to Gavin and will definitely return with the rest of family. The breakfast is beautiful ( quick in service, attentive, with possibility to choose both a la carte and from open buffet), with the possibility to be seated indoors and outdoors on the garden and lakeshore. Special thanks for the breakfast service to Fakazile who turn the breakfast into a joy and Yugine!

Don't bother with breakfast
the accomodation was ok as always, but the breakfast was an absolute disgrace. Very poor service, being told we had to pay for hollandaise sauce as only buffet available, the food was cold, had to grab staff as they just left us, sat there for 20 mins before being attended to, dirty tables, cold coffee, asked 2 people for hp or tomato sauce, never got - very disappointed, we did this as a present for a wedding anniversary, and was left very underwhelmed.
We have to consider if to book with you again, we have been a long term customer of yours and this time was totally let down, even though we paid more than twice as much as normal as high season.
The restaurant was not busy, no glasses for orange juice, the juice was empty anyway but besides the point, the staff didn't have uniforms, apart from one guy, dirty t-shirts, most of the staff looked like they just woke up in last nights clothes. Very unprofessional.
Very disappointed with the stay if we have to be honest.
Your standards have really dropped in the last 12 months.

These look beautiful on Expedia and all other websites but our Mountain View was really only what you can see above the roof tops; the terrace furniture was only a table and chairs. The rooms were not set up as requested (two doubles, we had one double and two twins). The toilet for one room moved (not just the seat, the actual cistern). The bath in the other would not fill as the plug did not fit properly. The TV would not play any live tv at all… despite two staff coming to look at it, the first said he had sorted it yet we still couldn’t get live stations only via apps (not being from SA, most didn’t work for us). The pools are very small for such a large property and the loungers around them very dirty (the mattresses were so badly marked we didn’t want to lay on them). We stayed at a W Collection property in Hermanus which was excellent, this one really lets the side down. On the positive side, the sheets and bathrooms were clean, the kitchen was relatively well equipped and the porter and gate staff were very happy and helpful. Sadly, not quite what we had expected or hoped for - the worst accommodation we stayed in during our 30 day stay in South Africa.
