I liked the fact there was no TV in the room. What I had a problem with was there was no parking lot for the guests. We had to jockey for parking every time we left the hotel and came back.

We had a great stay! Location couldn’t be more perfect! Was happy to find we had a mini fridge which was not advertised unless I missed it. Room was nice and cold.

The staff was awesome. They were so helpful when we arrived late in the evening in the pouring rain getting our bags to our room. Also they will set up umbrellas and beach chairs for you on the beach!

This is a very old historic hotel that is well maintained. We loved sitting on the front porch and enjoyed the live music coming from the bar area.

We stayed in the Southern Quarters. Our room was fine. Very old with slanted floors. However, the floor was extremely dirty. So, I do not have much to say regarding the cleanliness of our room. However, the staff was great. So, due to that, I would look to stay here again, preferably in the main part though.

The staff were very friendly and helpful my only complaint was our dinner did not include anything like bread or rolls and cost $40 dollars each. Never had a meal that did not include that not to mention a salad.

We booked this stay thinking we would be in the actual hotel that was listed and once we arrived we would be in the “southern quarters”. Which actually ended up being a house next door that the hotel owned. Although the room was clean and was good for what we needed it really felt that we were in a bedroom of someone’s home not a hotel. It is unfortunate that we were stuck there because we were looking forward to being in the hotel, getting breakfast, a drink at the bar, or enjoying the live music but since we were in a house next door there was no desire to do so.

This hotel is extremely old, so there are not many amenities. The hotel is charming, great front porch, nice on site restaurant and bar. 2 blocks to beach. We love it here!

We stayed at the Chalfont over this past summer and were very disappointed. the hotel is old and rundown. my room only had one lightbulb in it and the AC was not working so they put in a window unit. It did not look like what was advertised. It felt dirty. They have a lovely porch and good location. thats about it.

It’s quirky and historical but not charming. There is no elevator so be aware that you will have to haul your luggage upstairs if you’re on the second or third floor. The walls and ceilings in my room were peeling paint. There was a very noticeable crack in the corner and back wall of the shower. There’s no chair, tv or hairdryer. The only plug I could find was over the right side of the bed.😳 The sound carries so you hear the nightly live music and every footstep and conversation around you. The front porch looks lovely but really needs a revamp including new rockers that actually rock. And they need more boosters for WiFi. I never got WiFi on the 3rd floor. The location is great, between the beach and Washington Square. If you like historic you can probably overlook these things. The food was good, the staff were lovely, the live music was a treat. But overall the place looks tired.

Such a cozy stay! We loved the room and the location of the hotel is phenomenal. Even though it was off season, we found more than enough to do and the hotel’s proximity to everything was great! Definitely will stay here again if we ever come back to the area.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. They don’t have TVs in the room and the WiFi was nonexistent. They kept saying that it was glitchy, but we couldn’t get it to work at all. They emailed me months ago saying that we would be staying in the southern quarters. I was happy because there’s less stairs, and it also has a kitchenette. When I checked in they put us in the main building two floors up with a loud wedding under us. It is close enough to walk to the beach and Washington Street shops, but don’t expect too many amenities.
