Recently built family-friendly vacation home offers many amenities for all types of getaways.
Two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a pullout couch.
Spacious living room and coffee bar for entertaining.
For the serious bird watchers, sit on the shore and view the Alluvial Mud Flats.
This is a protected bird area with an abundance of migratory birds, including Eagles. Binoculars included.
Stay on shore for a dip or take the kayak, paddle board, or canoe and travel up river for a one-of-a-kind nature experience.
Anglers can attempt to reel in 1 of 30 different species in Lake Byllesby. Bring the kids and visit the campground, which has numerous playgrounds and a waterpark splash pad on the east end of the lake, or jump on a bike and experience the Cannon Falls to Red Wing Bike Trail, which runs along the Cannon River.
The charming town of Cannon Falls is located nearby which offers the Cannon Winery, ice cream, pizza, and antique shops. The world renowned Rochester Mayo Clinic is 40 minutes south of Lake Byllesby.
Downtown or St. Paul/ Minneapolis is 30 minutes to the north, if you would like to enjoy some culture on your getaway.
There is a shed in the backyard for guest use. It has life jackets of miscellaneous size, a paddle board, blow up kids pool and some other fun things for you to enjoy during your stay!
You will have the whole home to yourself during your stay. The basement is off limits as it is unfinished and used for storing the owners property. The home is equipped with a smart lock with a custom code for each guest. The doorbell is a Ring smart doorbell which is primarily used for receiving deliveries to the home between guests.

Family celebration Cannon Falls wedding
Beautiful home with all the amenities and then some. We enjoyed the stunning views of the lake and nature. We were very involved with all our family wedding activities and didn’t get to fully appreciate the property. I would love to book another visit sometime to chill and relax at this very welcoming house.

Great lakefront property
Our family of five had a great time at this property. Loved the lake access, kayaking, canoeing, fishing or just enjoying the beautiful view. Twin Cities is an easy drive about 40 min. north. Our hosts were extremely responsive and helpful. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. We would stay here again.

A nice stay
The home is very nice and has nearly everything you could need in the kitchen and pantry. Our toddler really enjoyed the books and puzzles. We didn't realize that there would be so much air traffic and road noise. It didn't hurt our stay, but it wasn't super peaceful.

We ended up not swimming or boating due to the flood waters and the weather, but enjoyed sitting lakeside and playing in the sand with our toddler. The house was spacious and comfortable, and the host was responsive when we contacted them about a few things.

Lake Byllesby June 2024 visit
I recently sold my cabin in Wisconsin. Getting together with family somewhere closer to Minneapolis was a goal as a result. We had some rain and wind during our stay but did fine with playing dominoes and other games, reading., and watching a movie. When the weather was nicer we drove to Nerstrand Big Woods State Park, Northfield, and the park on Lake Byllesby. It was great to have a convenient location for those travels. One of my daughters and her kids enjoyed using the kayaks. We have two hammocks so we added them to the set-up with your hammock for a fun triple hammock play spot for the kicks. Stacking rocks and rolling down the backyard hills were also a hit with the kids. Time around the fire pit with the requisite s'mores, a beautiful sunset, and star-gazing topped off our last evening there.

The house was homey and beautifully done. Quiet part of the lake. Shallow enough that the kids could have fun near the shore and there was plenty for the rest of us to explore further out in the provided canoe and kayaks. Exactly what we needed for a relaxing and fun week.

Cannon Falls Stay
The property was beautiful and clean. It had all the amenities that was needed to cook, clean, relax. The yard was huge and the beach was nice. From the listing, we were the under the impression that since there was a beach that we would be able to swim as well. However, during our stay there was too much algae to swim. I am not sure if this is always the case or the time of year during the hot summer months. Overall we enjoyed our time, just wish that we could have enjoyed the lake to swim.

Happy Guests
We got to stay at this beautiful home for a relaxing family vacation with our 4 kids. The hosts have everything you need! The house is beautiful and the lake set up was amazing and had everything you could need. The hosts gave helpful info for groceries, restaurants and activities. We spent most of the time fishing or on the water. This was the perfect get away for our family.
