"We were only able to stay one night, but our night at the Vallombrosa vineyard was very peaceful. The hosts were very helpful and kind and were gracious to bring me some emergency supplies. Although the property lies in a beautiful setting, it’s important to note that it takes at least 30 minutes to get to Lugano and the lake by car. "It was $E40 from the airport which has to be factored into the cost. But there weren't other better options the night I needed to stay over "close" to the airport. Hotel isn't fancy but was comfortable. They had a vending machine of high-sodium prepared mostly pasta dishes for two, in the lobby that functions until 10pm or 11pm. Plus a tank of hot water. Nothing walkable in the immediate area. The nice late night desk staffer took pity and scrounged me a yogurt and crackers from the breakfast stash which meant a lot to me, and is why I give this place 5 stars across the board. Very nice breakfast"
