Take in the ocean air and relax in a spacious private unit less than a mile from the ocean and two blocks from the Fiscalini preserve. 1 Bed, 1 Bath + Bonus room with futon. Full kitchen, Washer, Dryer, Private fenced in Yard and Balcony with views of the forest.

This private unit is located in the Lodge Hill neighborhood of Cambria, CA 3/4 of a mile up the hill from the ocean front Fiscalini boardwalk. It is centrally located between the ocean and downtown and a couple blocks from the Trenton Trailhead.

Guests will have fully hardscaped dedicated yard with BBQ and park bench, along with their own private entrance and balcony.

I choose this getaway because it is close to Fiscalini Preserve, which I love for hiking and birding. Plus, this particular property accepts dogs and I don't go anywhere without my doggo. I cook all my meals and the kitchen was fairly week equipped. Quiet and peaceful.

Perfect Setting in Cambria!

Lovely place to stay!

Host is very responsive, and we felt welcomed. We very much enjoyed the stay at the cottage and wish we had longer to stay. Clean, spacious, comfortable. A wonderful place to escape to.

Cambria trip

Wonderful place to stay. Hosts were gracious and attentive to our needs. Great location close to hiking and the coast and close to town for groceries,restaurants and shops. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Relaxing

We enjoyed hiking on the trails close to the house. The proximity to Cambria and Hwy 1, and all the coastal sites made it easy to explore. Nice to come back to a relaxing atmosphere after exploring.

Nice little Cambria "nest"!

Perfect place to stay for one to two people. Clean, pleasant and well appointed. Love the close proximity to the trail heads at the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. My furry friend loved the daily walks!

Spacious & Clean

This property was spacious and very clean. It had everything we needed, for example: coffee, wine bottle opener, washer & dryer. We were surprised to see the bathroom was so spacious that it even had a double sink. The host communicated everything really well. Enjoyed our stay!

The Great Retreat

My wife and I love this place Every thing you need to make your stay in Cambria memorable. Nice private patio to grill and picnic in as well as a lovely deck to seat on and have a glass of wine in the afternoon or evening. Close to ocean,town and Fiscallani Reserve.

Fantastic Location and Host

This was a great experience - the property is so centrally located. Only about 15 minutes from Hearst Castle, 5 minutes from downtown Cambria where all the eateries are. Alex was very communicative and helpful with suggestions for how to maximize enjoyment on my trip. Him and his wife were very welcoming and no complaints about the property. My boyfriend Michael and I also brought our dog Baxter who very much enjoyed his stay as well. 10/10 would recommend and would stay again.

We had a great time

The apartment was in a great location for what we wanted to do and see. It was close to downtown Cambria and a few hiking trails. As well as close to other locations for visiting tourist sites, shopping and hiking. The apartment was fully stocked with dishes, towels, etc. (We didn't need a thing) It had a washer and dryer so we were able to continue our trip with clean clothes. We would definitely stay there again should be return to this part of California.

Great Place to see the sights from!

This VRBO was perfect central place for taking in the sights along Big Sur, exploring Paso Robles, Jade Cove and Hearst Castle, eating Olallieberry Pie at Linn's, and going to visit the elephant seals! The host communicated great and had alot of good suggestions for us. The bottle of wine awaiting our arrival was very welcome too! The place was ultra clean and quiet which is always the most important thing we look for in a place to stay. There is tons of room here and easily a place to kick back and relax!

Nice 2 day retreta

This property is great. It matches the listing. No surprises. Clean, well stocked, comfortable bed. The kitchen has sharp knives and was stocked for people who like to cook. Overall, a great experience. Alex was accessible and gave great tips on hikes, beaches, and restaurants. Be sure to watch the video prior to arrival as cell service is spotty and the entry into the property is not obvious. Would rent again!

Peaceful Retreat

My life-long best friend had been facing ongoing stresses and issues for such a long time; the final straw was the recent passing of her closest confidant, her dad. Although she never complained, she needed a quiet, peaceful, meditative break from her very hectic life. Thank you so much for providing it with your lovely home! Though short, the visit was rejuvenating and exactly what she (we!) needed to face whatever is next in our respective lives. Charming base for our Central Coast visit

The property is clean, private, comfortable, and quiet. It was a very short walk to the large Fiscalini preserve, which provides numerous walks/hikes that span forest and coastline. Absolutely beautiful. Alex was super responsive and provided us tips on where to go and where to eat. We had one minor issue during our stay that he helped resolve immediately. In addition to Cambria, the location was a perfect base for us to visit Hearst Castle, Paso Robles, and Morro Bay. One hint:pack lots of layers. It was 80 degrees and sunny at Hearst Castle, and 55, windy, and foggy in the morning and evening along the coast. Overall, a great stay! Thank you Alex and Jessica!

Great stay in Cambria

We have nothing but good things to say about Alex's Cottage by the Sea and Trails. The check-in process was easy - Alex even sends a video so you can see how to get to the entry. The rooms were clean and spacious, and we loved the deck and the beautiful, wide view from the living room windows. It was really nice to have a full kitchen, with refrigerator, oven, microwave, and sink. The location is great. Even though it's on a corner and Ardath Street does have a fair amount of traffic, it was never noisy or distracting. The Fiscalini Preserve is easily close enough to walk to and the property is a quick drive from businesses and restaurants in Cambria and close to Cayucos and Morro Bay. Alex is a perfect host, who communicates well and makes sure your needs are met, while still respecting your privacy. We loved our stay and want to return soon.

Comfortable Spot for a Getaway

My husband and I wanted a quiet place to stay for a couple of nights while we explored the Pacific Coast. We were very happy with this location. It was very quiet and easy to find. We were given detailed instructions before we arrived so that we knew exactly how to get into the property. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The pictures were an accurate portrayal of what you will get. We were there without our children, however we would have been comfortable with our two teenagers for a couple of nights. The hosts gave us a lot of great ideas for things to do in and around Cambria, which we really appreciated. Cambria is a fun seaside town, and the beach there is a fun one to walk. We had everything we needed for our two night stay, and we would recommend it to others looking for something similar.

Cambria Weekend Magic!

This Cottage excelled in every way. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. This Cottage had everything we needed. Super clean and spacious. Within minutes we had our luggage put away in the large closet, bathroom (double sink), and dresser. But here's the best part...our host, Alex was generous and attentive. The TV's had every channel or App you needed to watch movies or your favorite shows. Incredible tranquility and quiet. We slept wonderfully on the King Size bed. Parking was "right there" and safe. Think about it - most hotels require parking fees, but not Cambria Weekend Magic. We made breakfast each morning and saved on going out. Minutes from Moonstone Beach and Downtown Cambria, as well as the wonderful stores, shops, and restaurants. On Friday night, kick it at the Cambria Lodge for Live music and dancing. I am in the 90th percentile of GOOGLE reviews. And I should not be telling you all this, but this is my highest VRBO recommendation. Everything worked. And there were all the supplies you could need to maintain the comfort and cleanliness of the home. Thank you, Alex. Sincerely, Martha & VictorSee you again soon...!

Cottage by Fiscalini Preserve

My wife and I picked this location to be next to the hiking trails in the Fiscalini reserve and it did not disappoint. The unit was immaculately cleaned, well appointed, and much more spacious than online pictures would suggest. There is a separate entrance into a fairly large, relaxing courtyard. A private entrance to the house from this area takes you to a room on the first level which serves as both a laundry room as well as an extra bedroom with a small bed. Walk up one flight of stairs and you are in the main living area with a comfortable couch, a full kitchen, a dining table that seats two, and a pleasant balcony to watch the sunset and have a glass of wine. The bedroom was much larger than anticipated with a very comfortable king-size bed and an adjacent bathroom with a shower/two sinks. The hiking trails were less than a five-minute walk away and downtown Cambria was only a 6 minute drive. It was also nice to have a TV with Netflix. We recommend this rental without hesitation.

Valentine getaway

Went wine tasting,walking on the boardwalk,went to the park to watch the ocean waves,went and saw the elephant seals and their new pups and lots of other fun things.

Greay stay in Cambria

We absolutely love the place. It was clean, as advertised and very close to downtown. One thing that i never thought about was the unit being on the second floor but we managed. Thanks, Alex, for the wonderful stay.
