"Lovely welcome from Patricia when we arrived and she was super helpful during our stay. Pool areas well kept and very comfortable. Breakfast was v good and the lovely Whitney served us who was very charming and efficient. Only downside was a very obvious’old’ blood stain on my duvet cover which was a surprise that the maids were ok putting in someone’s bed. It got changed but not great."

"Lovely hotel, location, food, and drinks. Also very clean and very friendly staff. The only thing we didn't like was the lighting, as the lights in the bedrooms were quite dark, so maybe upgrading the light bulbs would be nice. I definitely recommend this hotel."

"Just WOW!The property is everything the description says, with endless reviews to back it all up! Beautiful rooms and layout. Lovely big (heated) pool. Plus the truly stunning view across the Atlantic that glows like a painting with each sunset.Communication was excellent throughout, with lots of useful information available at the villa. The welcome basket of treats was very useful before we got some shopping in.A car (with Sat Nav) is a must. The driveway is very steep and takes a bit of getting used to ... as do the equally steep surrounding roads. But it is worth it. A few nice nearby cafes, a lovely fusion restaurant (Melton's Kitchen) and a very useful mini supermarket (an Amanhecer shop - 9370-702) a short drive away that has everything you need.All-in-all, a perfect break away from the rat race ... and one that we will be returning to in a couple of years for sure!"

"Nice apartment but a bit tired. Bathroom had smell of damp Beds very comfortable Half board meals good Slight tendency to nickel and dime. Like 20 cents for packet of sugar or coffee in the room."

"In every way, this is a spectacular property . World class panoramic views, iconic location, thoughtful communications, spotless cleanliness, well equipped to accommodate two couples for a week of luxurious living.Seamless check-in. Heated pool! The small details that make a difference, like a wine gift basket, generous selection of bath and pool towels, comfortable linens, heat! ( many Madeira houses are not adequately heated), Weber charcoal grill, reliable internet, multiple ensuite balconies with views and quality construction finishes. The excellent dedicated parking is a necessity on the steep, narrow, and fun municipal road. "

"What an amazing stay!!!! We loved staying at this very special place. From the warm welcome- the perfect size place, fantastic walks, the gorgeous countryside and views and the ease to go anywhere on the island- Casa Caramelo Rustic House was perfect!!!! We have had the most amazing experience here!!!! The Host ( Irina) is truly the best!!!! She was so helpful, kind and just a lovely person. We fell in love with her 2 beautiful , incredibly trained and super sweet dogs!! What a bonus to get a visit from them!!!. We loved this stay so much!! We will be back many , many more times!!!!"

"The room was nice and spacious. We had a cobbled floor in the room which was hard to walk on and felt less hygienic. The pools are quite small. The bathroom jacked an extractor fan do the walls were very wet after using the shower. The bathroom floor was not well drained so remained wet until after the dealers had been. Tea and coffee making facilities were inadequate. We were not shown the communal rooms on arrival (lounge areas) and did not discover these till later in our stay. There are very few facilities close to the hotel. There are steep elites and steps on the site so not suitable fit people with mobility issues. We felt like we were tolerated as an add on to the vineyard rather than valued guests "
