Cabin on the Dragon

This property is a great home away from home find. Super cozy and sweet. Enjoy the front porch swing over looking Back of the Dragon and watch travelers go by enjoying one of Tazewell Countys tourists attractions aka " Back of the Dragon. " Better yet, come ride along with them.

32 miles, 438 curves, and a once in a lifetime ride

There’s a reason The Back of the Dragon is a bucket list route for motorcyclists and sports car enthusiasts. It’s 32 miles of twisting, turning, knee-dragging road, running through three mountain ranges.

9.5 miles from our local tourist attractions, Back of the Dragon that offers food, shopping and sling shot rentals.

You will be 18 miles from one of the original six Virginia State Parks, Hungry Mother. It has long been a favorite for many years. It's known for beautiful woodlands and a placid 108-acre lake in the heart of the mountains. The park has a sandy beach with a bathhouse, boat rentals (canoe, kayak, paddleboats and paddleboards), a boat launch and a universally accessible fishing pier. Guests also enjoy campgrounds, cabins, yurts, gift shops, a visitor center, a six-bedroom family lodge, and hiking and biking trails.

Hand Dippers Getaway
The cabin is awesome! Beautifully updated and equipped with everything needed away from home. Cheryl is so helpful and a wonderful cook! It was hard to leave the view from the front porch to ride the Back of the Dragon, but we did, and got our ice cream😊. GPS mislead us getting there but Cheryl immediately redirected us. Thanks for the clean, comfortable cabin!

Great Escape
This little cabin on the hill “ Cabin in the Dragon” was amazing, the host was very pleasant and went beyond, to leave us feeling “invited”. This place was spic and span clean, the scenery was beautiful in Tazwell, Va. Great Place to Stay, and would definitely go back again.

Well maintained and very well stocked
Host goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. Cabin was even better than the pics. Only drawback was the driveway. As Flatlanders visiting family, we are not used to the curves. And I could only enter and exit driveway to the north, and family was south. But I found a convenient turn around nearby, so we figured it out. I highly recommend this place. Beautiful area!

Highly Recommend Cabin on the Dragon
The Cabin on the Dragon was perfect. The host Cheryl went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. The cabin was quiet, cozy, and clean with a well equipped kitchen for our dine in needs. It was motorcycle friendly and fun to ride in and out of. If you plan to ride/drive the Back of the Dragon or even just staying in the area, I absolutely recommend staying here. Thank you Cheryl for having us, we will be back.
