Experience this seaside town’s famous right-hand surf break and watch seasoned surfers competing on the waves. Check out the pretty lake and shoreline park.

Surfers from around the world flock to the legendary point break that curls off Lennox Head on New South Wales’ North Coast. Study the competition or take on the barreling waves for yourself. Watch the action from a hang glider or stroll along the shore to scan the horizon for pods of dolphins. Explore Lennox Head’s magical lake and relax at the town’s scenic picnic areas.

Visit the golden sand of Lennox Head’s Seven Mile Beach. Stroll along the broad beach, play in the waves, or watch surfers taking on the renowned break at Lennox Point at the southern end of the beach. Sit on the sand and watch longboarders cruising down the clear waves during the popular Lennox Longboard Classic, held every August.

Watch the surfing action from the Pat Morton Lookout on the headlands. Enjoy the views stretching north along the beach or keep your eyes on the horizon to spot migratory whales between May and November. Begin your hang-gliding or paragliding journey from the scenic headlands and soar over the township and the rolling waves.

The tranquil expanse of Lake Ainsworth is a short stroll from the beach on the northern edge of Lennox Head. Find a grassy patch for a picnic in the shade of fragrant tea trees. The lake has barbecue areas and scenic campgrounds. Take a break from the salty ocean and go swimming, kayaking or stand-up paddle boarding in the fresh waters of the lake.

Lennox Head has a great selection of waterfront cafés and restaurants and a fantastic monthly market. On the second Sunday of the month, visit the Lennox Community Market on the grounds of the Community Centre.

The town is a 20-minute drive from Ballina Byron Gateway Airport. Reach Byron Bay by car or train in less than 30 minutes. With its varied shoreline and exciting local events, Lennox Head is a great destination for a North Coast getaway.
