We stayed at this lovely farmhouse while we were volunteering in Burnsville. It was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. It was a short walk to the town center and conveniently located near grocery store. We would definitely stay here again. Great backyard area!
This was a very nice home to spend Christmas. Access from the main road is good and it is easy to get to. The house is a nice size and has a nice large dining room to have family meals together. It is a very cozy warm home with a nice large fenced in yard. One of the neighbors told us it was once the mayors home. I would stay here again.
House was very warm and homey decor was tasteful decorated with a down home feel very quiet neighborhood everything stocked and available for a enjoyable stay
The place was beautiful and clean. We loved the kitchen and the huge bath tub. We brought our dogs with us and they had a great time running around in the huge fenced in yard! We would love to come back!
The location to downtown is terrific and within walking distance. Friendly neighborhood and quiet. This home is close to everything needed for your stay, groceries, shopping, restaurants etc. The bed was comfy and I’m really picky when it comes to a mattress. We slept in the room with the king mattress. I would stay here again
I love this house. It's quiet, safe, comfortable, and most importantly, has the BEST yard. My dogs are so happy here. The location is great for exploring Mount Mitchell, Craggy Gardens, Linville and, of course, downtown Burnsville. The portable air conditioners kept me cool on warm days. The bathrooms offer a spa like experience with the rainfall shower heads and claw foot tubs. I hope to come stay here again next year.
Darling farmhouse in small town Burnsville, North Carolina. My family loved relaxing in the big backyard and hanging on the side porch. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had shower and classic clawfoot tub options. Many outdoor options int the area: Mt. Mitchell, Roan Mountain, tubing on the Toe River. Burnsville had plenty of restaurants to enjoy and a fun town square to shop for local arts and crafts and to grab lunch. My dogs exhausted themselves running around the huge fenced yard.
My dogs and I had a great time staying in this farmhouse. The furniture is comfortable, there are lots of extra blankets for the beds if you want them, and the chandeliers add a touch of elegance. The bathrooms offer a spa-like experience...deep claw foot tubs, excellent water pressure and very hot water. Only one bedroom has black out curtains so if you need complete darkness to sleep, bring a sleep mask, or pick one up at one of the many nearby businesses. The house is just minutes from Main Street. I got some great food from Snap Dragon, Bubba's Good Eats and Pig & Grits. The main reason I chose this property was for the big, fenced in yard and it did not disappoint. My dogs had so much fun running around and playing ball during our stay. Make sure the gate is latched before letting your dogs out. I was not aware the gate blew open during a storm and my dogs escaped for just a moment...it was scary. The latch for the gate is in very good condition, so it must not have been locked when I arrived and I did not check it. Check that gate upon arrival if you have dogs! My dogs and I would love to come stay again in the spring or summer when Mount Mitchell is open.
Great space location was very convent to several small shops and great restaurants. Very large back yard was great for our dogs as well. Bed in master bedroom wasn’t the best I’ve ever slept in but was good. Only other thing that could help would be some kind of pantry space to store groceries if you’re staying for an extended time. The host were great and we would stay there again without hesitation.
Wonderful property! We had 6 adults and 2 children and it was perfect for 2 nights. Love the old creaky floors mixed with the modern, fashionable amenities like the soaking tubs. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely old house with plenty of room. Could have been cleaner, especially the porches. The downstairs bedroom bed was very comfortable! Burnsville is a pretty little town.
Spending time with children and grandchildren is precious, and the warm & expansive spaces in this rental gave an air of old world hospitality to the time together. Our favorite gathering place was the porch off of the kitchen; large and well appointed with plenty of seating to catch the breeze. We will definitely come again!
We loved our stay! It was beautiful, exactly like the photos! The only issues we encountered was that the place was a little dusty in areas, but as expected for an 1890’s farmhouse. We had a very enjoyable stay and would return!
This is my third time staying at the farmhouse. The big, fenced in yard keeps me and my dogs coming back. This time I noticed new air conditioners throughout the house and a variety of nice smelling body wash, shampoo and conditioners in the bathrooms, which added to the already spa like experience. There were also some new pots and pans in the kitchen, making cooking a breeze. I really appreciate these additions/improvements. I hope to return again next year.
Family Wedding - California, SC, Florida, and Argentina
We had so many rentals for family surrounding the wedding venue. Your location was only 12 minutes away. Thank you for everything. We all loved the soaking tubs and relaxation.
I am actually from Burnsville, but had seven college friends coming in for the weekend. We enjoyed staying in the house and being as close to town as we were. The antiquity of the house was fascinating to us as several members of the group are involved in historical preservation and interior design. The huge fenced backyard is amazing! I came back to my house and got my new puppy and brought him over to play in the backyard with us for a couple of hours. I would absolutely recommend this home to anyone wanting to stay in Burnsville.

Nice property. We would have appreciated a welcome information book that told us info about the house and area. Info about using the ROKU TV would have been helpful (not everyone has experience with Roku). The bathroom sink faucets were very unique and took us some time to figure out how to turn on the water. Binds/ darker window coverings in the downstairs Bdrm would be appreciated. We didn't get any info about check out.
The weather was beautiful which made the weekend memorable.
