Tranquil motel style large room.

Tranquil motel style large room.

8/10 Good
"The room was absolutely wonderful and was very clean. It listed having kitchen facilities or having a kitchen. I would not call it a kitchen. Even a kitchenette is an exaggeration. They had a hot plate with a toaster oven under it and you could only use one or the other. The room was freezing and there was no heating in it. It was also communal other than that the setting is wonderful."

Bungaree Station

Bungaree Station

10/10 Excellent
"Stay here! A unique, completely comfortable and enjoyable stay. Bungaree Station is a still-functioning sheep farm, founded in 1841 and still run by descendants of the founders. By the 1850s and 1860s, the flourishing farm was something of a town, with housing for workers and managers, a store, church, community buildings, etc. Many of those original buildings are now converted into boutique and highly unique accommodations. I stayed in a former stable, now a lovely free standing little cottage with a modern bathroom, dependent on rainwater, adjoined to the historical building. It was quiet, comfortable and lots of fun. Even the Wifi worked great! They fill your refrigerator with the ingrediants for breakfast. For other meals, you can buy onsite provisions for barbeques or drive into town. Notably, the property also functions as an interesting and very well curated museum, which as an overnight guest, you can wander around and visit at your leisure, including the beautiful, historic church accessed by a code on a lock box. The whole experience was super fun. The flocks of birds were amazing, and I only wished I could have stayed longer. Highly recommended and very memorable. "

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Bumbunga?
The best time to visit Bumbunga is during the shoulder seasons of autumn (March to May) and spring (September to November), when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.During these months, the temperatures are mild, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region, particularly the Pink Lake. The cooler mornings and evenings are superb for photography, and you'll find it comfortable to walk around and enjoy the scenery without the intense heat of summer.Summer (December to February) can be very hot, with temperatures often exceeding 35°C, which can make outdoor activities less enjoyable. While the lake's colour can be most vibrant in the dry heat, the overall comfort for visitors is reduced.Winter (June to August) brings cooler temperatures and more rainfall, which can sometimes dilute the colours of the Pink Lake.
