Viktor was the perfect host. Viktor was very welcoming and extremely helpful and accommodating to all our needs. The property is situated just a street away from historical sites and a township high on the citadel of Buda overlooking the Danube River with a perfect view of the Houses of Parliament. There is a supermarket and wonderful restaurants and cafes serving delicious authentic cuisine only a walk away down the hill following a pathway of terraces lined with traditional apartments. Victor will provide you with a fresh continental breakfast each morning while his staff maintain a very clean, cozy and comfortable room.

Not fancy but comfortable with a great location
The location of this property is great; right at the foot of the Castle area. Great view of the river front and Parliament. There are few eating places in the area without climbing the steps to the Castle area. The bed was a little hard for our taste. We got there after dark and check-in did not happen until the next day. The information that they provided made entry into the hotel and access to our room very easy. Please realize that this hotel is a very old building and thus does not contain an elevator which can make carrying suitcases up three or four floors up a winding staircase difficult, especially if you are older like we are. If you check-in or out when the manager is there he will assist with your bags. The owner is very friendly and helpful.. One side note, when visiting Budapest download the Bolt app. It makes it very easy when getting a taxi which often arrives with a couple of minutes. Taxis are pretty reasonable and operate much like Uber.

This property is so close to Fisherman’s Bastion and you can even see the top of the building in the terrace of my room. You can enjoy the panorama view of Budapest whenever you want after a few minutes walk. The innkeeper Viktor is also very nice and helpful to book a taxi for us at 3am. Only down side is the towels a little hard. Add softeners to wash may be helpful. Overall it’s a good choice to stay.

If you want to stay in the Buda castle area this is a great location. I would stay here again when I come to Budapest.

Viktor was an excellent host and communicator. Location is superb for the Buda side with excellent value. Walking to the Metro required walking 3 blocks up steps that if not in shape would be difficult.

Great stay at this hotel!
Victor, the hotel manager gave us a comfortable stay by providing good service and humble behaviour. The hotel was clean with large rooms, calm, great location being just 2 mins away from the fisherman bastion, and overall promised for an excellent halt. I generally do not take time to write reviews but i do recommend this hotel highly and thanks to the hotel for making our journey so pleasant.

Wonderful staff, good location
This B&B located at a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood with just afew minutes walk to Fisherman's Bastion. It is also a short walk from Chain Bridge, bus stop, tram stop, grocery store and subway station.

Wonderful gem w a fantastic view of city!
Stayed my last 2 nights in Budapest at this wonderful B& B on the Buda side. So glad I came to this place! It's worth it to book the deluxe room w the view- I couldn't stop staring at the amazing Parliament House of Budapest which you get a fabulous view of from that room and the balcony. Also the breakfast balcony has a view of it as well. The owner is friendly and helpful. The stay is quiet and comfortable with a perfect breakfast and not too many other guests. This neighborhood is quiet and conveniently located to some of the turkish baths and Fishermen's Bastion. You can easily walk to good restaurants and the water front or chain bridge. Will definitely come back to Budavar again and recommend it to all my friends traveling to Budapest!

Clean hotel with great location.
One of the best parts of this hotel was the location. Within the castle district we had a view of the church right outside our window. Just down the hill was a bunch of amazing local bars and resteraunts. The best part of this hotel was the innkeeper viktor. He made sure we had everything we needed and answered any questions we had from money to parking to the best sights to see. Having him welcome us to budapest for the first time was the highlight.

Great location.
Viktor, the propietor ,, is a very gracious host. He is enthusiastic for his guests, offering tips ànd directions. Breakfast is continental style and very adequate. A very pleasant stay for us.

Great location in Buda next to the castle.
The owner, Viktor, was very friendly and helpful, he sent a taxi to meet me at the station and booked the airport bus for us. Although the b&b is slightly dated, it was perfectly comfortable and clean. The shared bathroom wasn't a problem. It was a bit tiring walking up 3 flights of steps after a day's sightseeing, as there is no lift, but the hotel was quiet and a short walk from the metro station. There was also a fridge in the lobby, which was great, with a good selection of drinks. I would definitely recommend this b&b to other travellers.

Really outstandingly helpful manager. I stayed in a cheap room without private bathroom - it shares with one other and was absolutely fine. There is however no lift, so if walking up stairs is a problem, avoid. Very well-located for seeing the sights!

Budavar B & B
Come down the steps from the Fishermen's Bastion and turn left at the first buildings. You are now just a few yards from the unprepossessing but substantial door to the charming Budavar B & B. At the front a quiet road with the green slopes of Castle Hill on the other side. At the back splendid views to Parliament. All friendly, clean and comfortable. A great find.

A GEM IN BUDAPEST AT A REASONABLE PRICE
Innkeeper was very friendly and cheery. He was exceptionally helpful in providing directions, arranging for taxis, and answering all of our questions. He made us feel right at home. Room was spacious and comfortable. The only downside is that there was no mini-fridge in room and nowhere to get ice. Otherwise, a great value for the money. The view from some of the balconies was spectacular.

Great value if you're comfortable being on the Buda side of town. I enjoy walking, and the location of Budavar Pension B&B was perfect for me to get out and see a bit of town besides the well-travelled tourist areas, to walk across the bridges, to visit some local coffee houses, to go jogging on the great track on Margaret Island. Reasonable walking distance to the Metro for those times I needed to take the Metro instead of walk. Room was comfortable and cozy. Overall, a perfect base for me to explore Budapest.

Room with a View
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Budavar Pension. We had a superior double room which offered the most spectacular view of The Parliament and the Danube river from our balcony. This B&B which is on the Buda side is 2 minutes away from the Castle district. It takes about 25 minutes to walk across one of the bridges to the Pest side and 10 minutes to the metro. It is a bit of an uphill climb when returning to the pension. We actually enjoyed the walking. Viktor who runs the B&B is charming, friendly and very helpful with suggestions.

B&B with one of the best views in Budapest
Loved this small B&B in a quiet street just below the popular tourist area of the Fisherman's Bastion and Matyas church. We were able to park our car free of charge in the street outside and the nearest metro station was about 10 minutes away. Our room, quite small but with plenty of storage, and a balcony, on the second floor had a fantastic view across the Danube to the Parliament building. It was also well air conditioned, a real bonus as the temperature was in the mid 30 degrees centigrade while we were there for three days. Viktor, who runs the place, is an excellent host, very helpful and knowledgeable. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to this city.

Great location and staff, clean, nice breakfast. It has about 3 rooms per floor with a shared bathroom and another room that is a shared shower / sink. We had no problems with the shared aspect, although a private one is worth a bit more to me. The best part was Viktor's offer to send a taxi to meet us at the airport. We didn't have to worry about reliability of the taxi system. Going back to the aiport we used the metro followed by a bus, very easy.

Super location in a super city
Our room was very clean, well furnished, and comfortable. From our window we could look out over the rooftops of Buda to the Parliament building across the Danube River--especially stunning when lit by spotlights at night. From the front door of the Budavar you can walk to the Fishermen's Bastion in just a minute or two. A 10-minute walk in the other direction leads to a Metro station that makes for easy connections to everything on the Pest side of the river.

Quiet spot, clean and conveniently located
We had an enjoyable stay. The location is perfect for Buda and the castle district and not too far from the metrpo tp get over to Pest. The street is quiet, the rooms clean and comfortable. Viktor the host is helpful and friendly, and speaks good English. Overall very pleased. The breakfasts are very mediocre however - a bit more attention given to this and things would be top-notch for a city break.

We stayed in this B and B for two nights and were unhappy to have to leave. The owner is exceptionally nice and easy. We arrived around 8:00 pm, but we had sent and email about our time of arrival, and he was there to greet us. We took the "hotel shuttle bus" from the airport, which had several other passengers to drop off at several other hotels in the city before our drop off, but we did see a bit more of the city at night that way. The location is wonderful, just below the lovely Fisherman's Bastion, all lit up at night. Our room was on the top floor...can't remember why we chose that room, but it was comfortable. The front rooms are larger and have river and Parliament views., with private baths. Maybe we were reeling from the prices of hotels in Italy and decided to economize, as the room we had was less expensive. We shared a toilet room and a shower room with the couple in the adjoining hotel room, which never was a problem. Breakfast was nice... nice rolls, hard boiled eggs, cheese, sliced meat, (I made a sandwich), fruit, juice, coffee, tea, milk, cereal, yogurt. All good. Stay for the price, location. friendly owner, comfort and wonderful view.

The hotel is excellent and the proprietor/manager is very friendly. the only problem is the location high up in Buda, close to the scenic Fishermen's Bastion. From the breakfast room there is a wonderful view over the Danube to the Parliament building. However the short walk from the nearest Metro station involves climbing a steep hill, either going up alleys with steps, or following zig zag roads. This is a drawback when one arrives with luggage.

Everything about this pension was great - location, cleanliness, friendliness, comfort. The only lack was the food at breakfast - it was meager and the fruit was old. We didn't care much and everything else was perfect, but if food matters, you might be disappointed.

The Budavar Pension - a fantastic quiet location
We stayed with Victor for five days, and found Budavar Pension to be quiet and clean, the location perfect, and the management very helpful. There was nothing we needed that wasn't provided including advice on events we were interested in. Would highly recommend this place.

Wonderful little pension - superb location!
The location is superb: just a few steps up to the Castle District! The rooms are roomy and clean, and the owner and his son were very helpful and friendly. They even accommodated by food allergy (gluten) which was great! I would definitely go back when in Budapest. A head's up: they only take cash, so if you book it through hotels.com, your reservation would be confirmed but it wouldn't be paid for.

모든게 만족스러웠던 펜션.
마스터는 굉장히 친절하였습니다. 엘리베이터가 없어서 무거운 짐을 가진 사람은 체크 인 아웃 때 좀 힘들 수 있겠지만 다양한 메뉴의 맛있는 아침식사와 창가로 어부의 요새가 보이는 전망은 매우 좋습니다. 마차시 성당의 아침 종소리를 들으며 일어날 수 있습니다. 공용욕실 화장실이 모두 최고로 청결합니다. 제가 부다페스트에 다시 온다면 여기로 옵니다.

Bra läge på Budasidan precis vid Matyaskyrkan, fiskbastijionen och utsiktsplatsen mot Pest delen med parlamentsbyggnaden som är fint upplyst på kvällen. Värden är behjälplig med tips, taxi och är allmänt en bra person var mitt intryck. Ac och en liten tv på rummet var över förväntan på ett i grunden enkelt bed and breakfast, där frukosten faktiskt också var bättre än jag trott.
