"The house was located on a 4 x 4 only beach, which would have been fine if we had been informed prior to our arrival about the conditions to expect and the proper way to navigate them. We arrived after dark, during high tide, with inflated tires. We should have been told to watch the tide charts because the beach becomes impassable at high tide. We were not, and barely made it to our turn off because it was a shortly after high tide. We should have been told about letting the air out of the tires to make driving on the beach doable, which we were not. This resulted in us getting stuck in the sand and a costly towing bill. We were advised against driving the beach at night by the tow truck driver who said it was very dangerous if you were unfamiliar with the beach. There are many hazards that could have ruined our vehicle if we hit one, luckily we didn’t. The constant monitoring and worrying over high tide and our schedule made for a miserable trip. We were obviously not from the area and consider it negligent that the leasing company did not give us any information other than we needed a four wheel drive vehicle. "

"I see a lot of terrible reviews for many places but this is NOT one of those! The house was exactly as described. It was well kept, clean, close to the beach, and a great experience all around. I highly recommend! If you are lucky enough to rent a property owned by Blake (there’s more than one) you won’t regret it! "

"This home is beautifully decorated 3 levels , bedrooms on middle level kitchen , living room & dining room on top , decks are awesome just be wear of the steps it’s a lot for anyone with back issues . We only had 1/2 day that it wasn’t raining / very windy so bad could t set up in beach and to cool to use the nice pool and surroundings. Excellent communication with the owner , just wish we had few more days so we could have enjoyed the beach and or pool more. *** Please pay attention to the tide , twice even though 2 hours from high tide wasn’t able to go around 2 houses which was totally not what we have had to do other times staying . We only saw 1 house at home , couple of the end and out trips but this morning on your way out we saw 7 on dunes near last home on water before you get off the 4 x 4."

"The house was fantastic! The hosts were very communicative and everything was as described. Not many places allow 3 dogs and they were very happy with the bowls and dog bed they provided. They honestly loved the dog bed so much I'll have to get them one like it. The area was really serene and peaceful. Walkies with the dogs were so pretty with it sitting back in the woods. Only being 1/4 mile from the beach was also a big plus. We did some night fishing and didn't have to drive forever to get back to the house. We will definitely book again. "

"The Carte’s were extremely pleased with our stay for the 2025 Labor Day holiday. The house was amazing, clean and Phil was extremely helpful with answering our questions about the area. The best part of our trip was by far the wild horses and the seclusion of the Rusty Crab. We recommend booking a visit at this house and giving it a 10 out of 10!!!"
