It was a beautiful cabin with a spectacular view. Just be careful going up the mountain driveway. definitely you would prefer to have an all wheel drive vehicle at the very least

Hot tub in picture is not one at property. Loved the seclusion but the .7 mile drive on the gravel road was a minus.Road definitely needs attention. Overall great place for a romantic .
Cabin was great. Small but clean and comfy. Hot tub was great. Road is mentioned that 4x4 or AWD is needed. For sure this is the case. Owner / other property owners need to fix the washed out portion of road before someone goes off the side of the mountain. I have a lifted 4runner and it was no issue to drive in the ditch to avoid the break away edge of the road. If someone cannot move over far enough due to clearance or poor decisions (like at night for a late arrival) the road edge looks to be ready to give way. My car or minivan would not have made it up the hill.
The Bear Hug Cabin is up in a Beautiful location, feels very isolated and peaceful but still only a quick drive away from town. We really enjoyed our stay and loved to just sit back and relax on the deck and enjoy the surroundings. Very nicely decorated inside and was the perfect place to stay for a relaxing getaway in the mountains!
Cozy little cabin. Beautiful views! 4 X 4 needed, the road up the mountain is a little scary, but worth it for the view. We had a great relaxing stay. Was disappointed with shower (it was quite small and the spray hose was not in good working order), however we made due. Loved the views most of all!
Cabin was perfect for my partner and I and our senior dogs. View is beautiful. Made use of the deck, fire pit, and 2 person hot tub. Kitchen, living space, bathroom are fairly minimal but it was what we were expecting. We also really loved being closer to Bryson City, found it much more appealing to visit than Gatlinburg.
Nice little cabin, enjoyed the covered porch in the rain, can't beat that sound. Bed was comfy. The hot tub was nice - may need a new cover soon current one is tearing in the middle (also only one of the large jets seemed to be working). The view was ok but some of the little trees are growing fast and blocking out the mountains. Loved how close we were to town yet far enough away to be secluded!

Really disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t already on and ready to use. Debris floating in hot tub. Also, then couldn’t get it to remain constant temperature and the jets not working correctly. Would like to stay at Bear Hug again but afraid of the hot tub concerns.

Not what you’d expect
The road to the cabin is rough, highly suggest 4x4. The hot tub was super small, was dirty and the jets didn’t work, was not the hot tub in the photo. Neighbors dogs barked the whole time at all hours and some random guy showed up during our stay to work on the cabin. We had booked for 5 nights and only stayed 4 so we lost out on $$$. It was hard to shower due to the layout, I kept opening the shower door rinsing my hair. The cabin itself is clean and small, perfect for 2 people. Other than that, I would not recommend until they fix the issues with the road and the hot tub.

Weekend/Train Ride
Booking and communication prior to arrival was great. The road leading to cabin is extremely rough, and luckily we didn’t meet another car. Be aware, it is steep, rocky and one lane. Cabin decore is very outdated, the vinyl couch uncomfortable and cold. No extra blankets were provided, recommend bringing a few. The hotbtub was nothing like the photo --it's the size of a bathtub and is in need of improvements. No extra towels are provided so if you plan on tubbing bring towels. No firewood is provided and when I asked hosts, they said check a local gas station. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper, so I left the 4pack I bought for next guests, as no more was provided when I asked. Overall, we spent the little time we were there outside. Cabin could be darling with updated improvements.
Loved the location, as described. You really do want a 4WD, or all wheel drive. Could use better signage to the cabin, but the property manager sent a young man out to help us find the property. We arrived after dark so the directions provided didn't help as there were landmarks such as green roof that we couldn't see. Morning sunrises were pretty awesome sitting on the porch drinking coffee. Not the properties fault, but a neighbor down the hill had dogs that barked a lot. I think they were full-time residents. Cabin had all the items you would need to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. We would stay there again.
