Lake Longbow-10 acre STOCKED lake, 80 acres, 4-wheeler/walking trails, swimming

"We stayed at Lake Longbow for my daughter's wedding weekend. There was plenty of room for everyone. Although there was a swimming dock, the lake itself was unsuitable for swimming due to the amount of moss. The deck was nice for morning coffee and late night ghost stories. I will say 10AM checkout came quickly the day after a wedding given the amount of tasks that had to be accomplished by the 3 remaining guests. Overall, nice stay that fit our needs."

"The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful (both Samantha and Andrew). Much appreciated as most of the time staff at hotels either doesn’t know what’s going on or would rather be doing anything else but staff here was top notch. Hotel was newer and is pretty good condition. Room was a little small but that’s typical I suppose. Only complaint was we were awoken around 11:30 at night by a couple of women talking in the hallway. The walls are apparently so thin it sounded like they were in the room. Husband had to go out and remind them people are trying to sleep. I suppose that probably typical of hotels anymore too but annoying none the less."

"The staff were very helpful. The room was okay and what you would expect for the price. When I pulled back the window curtain the outside pane was cracked and there was green slime growing between the panes. Gross. Again the staff were friendly and helpful."

"Simple, a bit rustic, very clean, and exactly what we were looking for. Three days of fishing at Rockbridge were easy, a reasonably quick drive, and very affordable. Everything three adults needed was available and worked. And there is a nice fire pit area in the rear years area. Call it just tight for a fishing family or 3-4 people. Reminder: you are in the woods. We had a very small bug zapper we kept on the first floor which proved a good idea ."

"Oh my goodness! This quaint little cabin was just perfect! Location for us was perfect & so very quiet. A big plus after spending the previous night in a noisy hotel! We so enjoyed our stay! Was very pleasantly surprised to see stuff like extra water bottles, tin foil, etc! Don’t find that much at most vacation rentals. Listing was exactly as said! Saw about 6 deer in the field across from the cabin & a couple of bunnies in the yard! Cabin was extremely clean & comfy. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area. Thanks so much for the welcome card & the delicious cookies!"

"Property was very secluded and quiet. Actually used fire pit in August. The grill could use a cleaning and possibly a better shower but overall very nice"

"This was the second time we stayed at the Big Oak Cabin! Nice place and beautiful scenery. Convenient location and very reasonable. I just wish I’d bought it before the owners did! Plan on returning soon!"
