"Told William several weeks ahead that I had made a mistake on my reservation. Instead of 3 nights we only needed 2 nights. Never heard back from him and got the computerised checkin information. Couldn't find any extra coffee pods and sent him a message. Never heard back. After our stay asked for a refund of the one night and never heard back from him. Poor communication. Won't book next year when we make our annual pilgrimage to Kansas City with 6 guys for golf"

"The lobby was nice. I am a single woman traveling alone and was put in a room directly opposite the elevators. The door had a half inch gap that I put a towel against to block the noise. The lock was a chain across the door. The interior was shabby and the tub didn’t drain as I was showering. I was surprised because this brand is usually better and the price gave me high expectations. Too pricey for what I got, which was essentially a three star hotel."

"Parking was right out front on the street, the location was great and the building is beautiful and restored well. The staff were great - I didn't read the instructions well and they responded with a text immediately helping us get in (we checked in late) :)"

"The Fontaine is in our rotation when traveling to KC. It continues to be very suitable for its location, cleanliness, comfort and value. Are the rooms in need of updating? maybe, but not to extent of calling them tired. We love visiting the bar on the 7th floor off the pool deck, though pool was not open for the season yet on this stay. Some of the best happy hour drinks you'll find anywhere! On matter of bathroom towel racks, none except one in the shower, not sure why there aren't any on the bathroom walls. Regardless, we'll be back, "

"Great property for our stay in mid-April for a friend’s bachelorette weekend! We were a group of 12 and felt like we had plenty of space. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed for 3 family-style meals. It was very clean, conveniently located, and check-in/out was a breeze with proactive communication from the host. The backyard space with the Adirondack chairs was a great bonus for us. A few things we wish were different: none of the locks on the bathroom doors worked, the bed pillows were so thick and firm that several of us used couch pillows instead, and there wasn't door/curtain/divider to offer privacy to the bedroom with adjoining spaces. Overall, we would highly recommend this stay to anyone with a large group wanting to gather in KC !!"
