"We went to the dining room the first evening of arrival to order some dinner after a long day of travel with delays and other problems, and were told it would be over an hour to get served because they were busy with room service. This was around 8pm in the evening. They shouldn’t have a dining room up if they aren’t any more efficient than that."

"Told William several weeks ahead that I had made a mistake on my reservation. Instead of 3 nights we only needed 2 nights. Never heard back from him and got the computerised checkin information. Couldn't find any extra coffee pods and sent him a message. Never heard back. After our stay asked for a refund of the one night and never heard back from him. Poor communication. Won't book next year when we make our annual pilgrimage to Kansas City with 6 guys for golf"

"This is the best hotel! Its clean, lots to do, and the staff is so helpful and nice. You are a small walking distance to shops ans restaurants. Everything is right there. Love this place. "

"The lobby was nice. I am a single woman traveling alone and was put in a room directly opposite the elevators. The door had a half inch gap that I put a towel against to block the noise. The lock was a chain across the door. The interior was shabby and the tub didn’t drain as I was showering. I was surprised because this brand is usually better and the price gave me high expectations. Too pricey for what I got, which was essentially a three star hotel."

"Parking was right out front on the street, the location was great and the building is beautiful and restored well. The staff were great - I didn't read the instructions well and they responded with a text immediately helping us get in (we checked in late) :)"

"We stayed at this hotel two nights because we were in town for a dance competition for my daughter. I got a text message the day before we were supposed to check in that they were undergoing some construction/ renovations. I had the hotel booked for several months. They told me if I needed to cancel my reservation they understood… but where am I gonna find another hotel last minute for a reasonable price? Our room was great. It was totally renovated and beautiful beds were comfortable no complaints there. The lobby was a complete mess, due to construction. Only breakfast available was bagels and yogurt. Front parking lot is closed due to construction so parking was only in the back and it was very limited. I was very worried that we weren’t going to find a parking spot the one night but luckily there was a few left. You had to go up and downstairs to get to that parking lot. The check-in girl was amazing. She was so friendly and did the best she could to explain about the construction. I bet once they’re done with all their construction it’s going to be beautiful, but it was kind of inconvenient."

"The Fontaine is in our rotation when traveling to KC. It continues to be very suitable for its location, cleanliness, comfort and value. Are the rooms in need of updating? maybe, but not to extent of calling them tired. We love visiting the bar on the 7th floor off the pool deck, though pool was not open for the season yet on this stay. Some of the best happy hour drinks you'll find anywhere! On matter of bathroom towel racks, none except one in the shower, not sure why there aren't any on the bathroom walls. Regardless, we'll be back, "
