If you’re looking for ‘glamping’, you’ll be quite disappointed (this isn’t for you). But, if you’re realistic about your expectations, this is a great experience in a convenient location. I’d describe it like tent camping with a nice (clean) bathhouse, an indoor lounge area with kitchenette-like amenities (microwave, toaster, coffee & tea options), plus 2 grills for shared use, and an outdoor ‘arbor’ (gathering area) with a fire pit. The hosts have given a lot of thought to guest comfort, and there were touches I didn’t expect.
We spent 3 cool rainy/stormy nights (lows in the 40s), and were very comfortable...but we’d also brought our sleeping bags to supplement (rated 20F). The provided bedding was a tarp (for under & over bedding), foam mattress, sheet, Coleman sleeping bag (rated 50F?), matching pillow, and wool blanket. It would have been plenty on a warm, dry evening, or with a fire burning. (We never lit ours in the tipi, but firewood & guidance are provided.) We were surprised how dry it was, considering. (Much better than a leaky tent.)
21 trains pass through Browning daily; you’ll hear them, along with other outdoor noises. Some may be bothered; we found it charming. As mentioned, there are 2 large dogs that roam the property. They were very friendly, but unavoidable for anyone who doesn’t like dogs.
We enjoyed our stay and spent the rest of our trip sharing the unique experience with others. The caveats are so others know what to expect and also enjoy!
