"The swimming pool is the jewell in this hotel's crown. The rooms are basic but spacious, some with views over the garden areas. The staff are very friendly and always willing to ensure that all guests are happy with their stay. Breakfast is good with a variety of continental and cooked foods available. There is an additional cost for breakfast for those who book on a room only basis. A service charge is also levied for service provided at meal times. The hotel is dog friendly and is ideally situated for walking into Lyndhurst. There is ample free parking with charging points for electric vehicles."

"This hotel was absolutely delightful, comfortable & full of character. The grounds were lovely and the staff were very friendly, polite and exceedingly welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was way beyond our expectation of a buffet breakfast. There was a huge range of food available from a full English through to fruit, cereal & yoghurt. It was all delicious. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone, or to stay there again. We relaxed the minute we came through the door. A BIG Thank you to all the staff, from the management to the cleaners, we had a wonderful stay."

"Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Small attention to details noted - a radiator that was hung very unevenly in our room (eye catching, long term dust build-up on the headboard, staining/drips/splashes on walls next to the toilet and 2 broken windows in 'attic' windows (not what you expect to see when you first arrive at this otherwise beautiful building). The positives - generally clean and tidy in the communal areas and in our room, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had great dining and bar areas with a decent selection of options on their menu. The crowning jewel is the hotels location in relation to the New Forest and Southampton central."

"Well placed for the town/sea front, the beautiful New Forest & the ferry to the Isle of Wight. Clean, tidy room and very friendly & helpful staff. Property has been modernised in certain areas especially the bedrooms. Good car parking. Simple but satisfactory breakfast and adequate evening meal. Happy to recommend this for all the above & would certainly be happy to stay there again. Very good value for the money."
