"To start with, access to this property during the winter is simply unsafe. You access the property from the back yard. While snow and ice may not be normal in DC, during our stay there was a lot of ice that was not cleared. Very slippery and unsafe. You enter the property through the lower level deck that was very icy. Once in the sliding patio door, you are greeted by vinyl plank flooring with no rugs, so the snow and ice on your shoes melts and runs all over the floor. Now for the...

"This is just another property taken over by a middle east family conglomerate where the entire family lives on site and no outside help is hired until the family fills all the jobs that they can. This is one of the better properties I've seen that fit this description. The bed was really comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was very good. Much at the property was quite antiquated. From the paper print out where you sign/initial here here and there, they photocopy your license, and supply shampoo and conditioner in little containers on the sink along with little bars of soap where most of the hotel universe has evolved to the bottles mounted on the shower wall. The place was very clean except for big greasy spots on both headboards no doubt from a previous guest sitting up in bed. I don't like having to clean something like that when it should have been done with the rate I paid for the room."

"Compared to other nearby hotels, the price at Best Western Fairfax was reasonable, so I booked a 4-night stay without knowing much about the hotel beforehand. After checking into a first-floor room, I immediately found two cockroaches near the entrance. I took photos and asked for another room. At first, the front desk said no rooms were available, but after seeing the photos, they moved me to a room on the third floor. Obviously, cockroaches can exist anywhere, but I did not want them sharing my room. Because of that, the stay was not completely satisfying. Still, the room itself was decent overall. The bathroom water pressure and drainage were good. There was no “Do Not Disturb” tag, so housekeeping cleaned the room while I was out. I also lost my parking tag on the second day, but fortunately had no parking issues during the stay. On the final Saturday night, the neighboring room was very loud after midnight, which was frustrating. Checkout was easy, but Sunday breakfast started at 7:00 AM, so I could not eat before leaving. I wish weekend breakfast also started at 6:30 AM. Despite the issues, the location and price were good enough that I would probably stay here again."

"This Dunn Loring location was perfect! It was easy to access and an easy walk to the Metro station and Harris Teeter for groceries. The hotel was incredibly clean and well maintained. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful! The Bistro had wonderful food and the small market had some good snack options if needed. The parking under the hotel was very clean and felt safe. Our two complaints are the pool area was closed and we wish we could have used the pool and we did not have a microwave in our room. These were not deal breakers though and I would definitely stay at this location again!"
