Visiting Brisbane for the first time, this hotel is situated in a perfect location. Close to everything yoy will need from the vibrant Felons to the free city link boat all on your doorstep to make a visit to Brisbane perfect.
Property was beautiful both inside & outside main reception, decor = lovely.
Friendly front desk staff.....
Bathroom in room was very old, tiles cracked, drawer in vanity didn't close, shower head very old. Sheets were beautiful hotel high standard, as were towels.
Sadly my stay at the Oakwood was a disaster, broken bed, 3 room moves, no towels, too many things that didn't work to list including one of the only two lifts. Has the feel of a place that has given up!
We had to wait over 1 hour to check in Past 2pm. Because our room wasn't ready. They told us they need to inspect it. There was only one lift working and it was super slow. There was no smoking on the balcony but on our balcony there was a smoke on the chair. In the hallways to the rooms there was a horrible smell. It was really bad smell. We had to pay a extra $45 to park our car on the property. It wasn't included in our price of the room.

Not sure if it was since off but only one elevator was working. It was quite busy with other patrons so wait times were longer the usual.
The rooms were quite outdated with trimmings, tapes and handles need to be replaced.
Limited staff. Breakfast ok, more options required for the location and people not having to go somewhere else to find breakfast.

The check in was unfriendly, was not advised about parking, carpet in rooms was old and patchy or torn in places, elevator that worked was extremely slow, around power points needed a serious clean.

Was cheap easy for us to get around bit dated but staff were all pleasant
Great area, easy to walk, bike or take public transportation. Pool and spa were clean.

No cleaning and poor wifi
Just spent three nights at Oakwood and my room was not cleaned on any occasion despite me asking nicely on the last full day.
The internet was intermittent and was so bad I had to hotspot off my phone for 2x1 hour meetings.
Room was fine, and location great but it wasn’t a good experience.

Disappointing stay
Upon arrival room was 45° unbearable, so we had to turn air on in room and go for a drive for 2hrs to give the room time to cool down. This maid our stay rushed instead of relaxing, defore our dinner commitments.
Breakfast was something that i would not recommend due to lack of food & cutlery.
My wife had to share my knife to butter her toast. To top it all of the air-conditioning had broken down. All Staff where very helfull & did what they could, the rest was out of their controll.

Auto entry to car parking was out of order due to other guest driving into the barrier, while not in hotel’s control, it did make entering and exiting more difficult as had to open manually each time.

Beautiful view overlooking the river. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Quick easy walk to some amazing dining venues along the boardwalk. Friendly, helpful staff. Will definitely stay again.

Our aircon seemed to barely work, I spoke to other guests who were also really struggling with the heat and noticed the aircon wasn’t functioning properly. We barely slept due to the heat and the bathroom had some black mould in the shower/bath unfortunately.

No extra blankets in room dryer kept cutting out no cutting boards sofa lounge was broken couldn't get it out and wasnt made cost of patking was almost the price of the stay think i should have recieved some discount for more then 2 nights other than that staff were very pleasant

Dear Katrina, We have closed up most of our sofa lounges now and request guests contact us directly to organise additional beds. Many of our items in the room like blankets are on a request basis and the team is always happy to take a freshly cleaned blanket up. This is a model we moved to after COVID-19 to help ensure all multi-use items are clean for the next person. Our parking is based on local prices and we are happy to note we offer some of the cheapest hotel parking in the area. We do offer discounted parking for stays 7 days or over as we know it can be quite expensive after this. We do apologise for the lack of cutting board in your room and the team will be sure to put a new one in. We hope you give us another chance in future!
